Fantastic to see him proving his doubters wrong, he could have chosen to pull a Puncheon and react to criticism by getting the hump and giving up. Instead he puts in a man of the match performance and has staked his claim for a starting place against Ipswich. That is the type of commitment I love to see in our players and was the reason less technically gifted players like Benali were loved by myself and almost all Saints fans.

Top class game Saturday!! Better than Martin at the minute in my opinion and put his body on the line for the team in final 10 mins.

Good to hear, but he is vastly more experienced than Martin who has only just started what is likely to be a very promising career

but nevertheless ...nice to have an alternative choice, also.

Watched the 90mins against Barnsley and to be honest apart from the last 10mins they weren't under any pressure. I hope he can play well against Ipswich, but they will be more of a threat going forward, and against Torquay according to most he was pap.

Still feel we need a new Centreback if we are serious about hitting the playoffs.

Would like Seabourne to prove me wrong of course :)

A lot of difference playing next to fonte and harding than martin and dickson though to be fair.

Watched the 90 minutes on BarnsleyPlayer. Seabourne looked very good. So much so, the Barnsley commentator said "What Barnsley would give to have a centre back as good as Seaborne"

I've never been a big fan of his but hopefully he can keep up that standard of performance. As it stands, I still think we need a new CB

Bit odd isn't it that Seaborne was in a gigantic effing sulk against Torquay and played crap football all evening - presumably jealous of Martin getting the nod v Leeds? Then he gets the pick for the Barnsley match...

Seaborne was injured for the Leeds United game.

Seaborne was ahead of Martin in the pecking order last season, and it seems it hasn't change this season. Will be interesting to see if Jaidi is still ahead of Seaborne when he returns to full fitness.

Last season pecking order for centre backs...

1) Fonte

2) Jaidi

3) Seaborne

4) Martin

This season you can't work out positions 2-4 until Jaidi returns, but what we do know is...

1) Fonte

?) Seaborne above Martin

?) Jaidi's place in pecking order unknown apart from it is below Fonte

I am a Seaborne doubter. Not because I have a personal issue with him, but because of the countless tes I have watched him put in distinctly average and below par performances, along with a few shocking ones too.

Yes, we kept a clean sheet and he won most of his headers against 5ft 11" Danny Haynes (DS is 6ft 3" for a random bit of knowledge) and he mucked in when the going got tough at Oakwell, but I am going to base my judgement on more than 1 game and it would take about 20 clean sheets and many more reports of DS having a "MOM performance" before my head is turned. I have genuinely seen nothing from him that makes me think he could be a regular for us.

A doubter but without much logical reason. He hasn't played 'countless' times and many of the times he has played, more balanced assessments have sometimes found him strong and sometimes weak, but the assessment that really counts, more than any ad hoc fan on the terrace is that NA and AC have found him good enough on plenty of occasions. But I'm afraid SSotN, when you say in effect that even if he was MoM 10 or 15 times you'd still not rate him, then surely you must start to doubt your own judgement.

Excuse me pal, I have lost count of how many times I have seen him play, So dont question me on that. NA and AC have not really had much option when they have chosen him other than the very inexperienced Martin.
