Mattio Posted 13 August, 2011 Share Posted 13 August, 2011 I've decided to go on a last minute holiday in a couple of weeks and was just wondering if anyone knew any good places to look? I've tried TravelSupermarket, HolidayHypermarket, IceLolly and a few others, but wondered if anyone knew any hidden gems? There are a few on eBay but don't know whether to trust it? LGTL Posted 13 August, 2011 Share Posted 13 August, 2011 It may be obvious but Thomas Cook are always cheap last minute.
dubai_phil Posted 14 August, 2011 Share Posted 14 August, 2011 Depends where you want to go. IF you want to go further afield on an "independent trip" I found a brilliant web site for Hotels across Asia (Which I put up here for anyone else who may be travelling) latestays.com Have used them for about 4 years now, found a hotel in Bali for the GF's trip at $49 a night down from $250 and it was superb For local stuff in EU agree with LGTL Travel Agents often have stuff in the shop windows as well as on line
Massimo Osti Posted 14 August, 2011 Share Posted 14 August, 2011 It may be obvious but Thomas Cook are always cheap last minute. Yes as above don't overlook the big tour operators, Its school hols so some major med flights will be fully booked but there are always last min deals to be had. What you need to think is that usually its spaces on the plane and not the hotel that get booked up first, so if your not fussy on flight times and prepared to go somewhere not so popular with families the big companies want your money just as much. Go into First Choice and ask them ???
JonnyLove Posted 14 August, 2011 Share Posted 14 August, 2011 It may be obvious but Thomas Cook are always cheap last minute. I had a late deal with them last year as in booked two day's before going and their cheep if you don't have an issue where your going but found it cheeper only by a couple of £100. Definitely finding Teletext holidays cheeper by at least £300 each.

Very true, just booked for 3 weeks time to a 5* hotel in OluDeniz, Turkey, full board (drinks included at lunch and dinner), Sports facilities included, all transfers and flights. £500....not bad price for what I'm getting, plus kids are back at school. sotonjoe Posted 14 August, 2011 Share Posted 14 August, 2011 Just be aware that not all of the companies advertising on Teletext - and on the internet / in the back of papers for that matter - will actually be ABTA & ATOL bonded. There will be some very cheap prices out there by some very dodgy companies, so make sure you understand the law, book on your credit card and do your homework on the company you choose to deal with.
