hutch Posted 13 August, 2011 Posted 13 August, 2011 Make that 20th FFS I'm trying to help a fellow Saints fan keep his spirits up
Gingeletiss Posted 13 August, 2011 Posted 13 August, 2011 Slightly off topic, not being a Dr Who fan, but when did the Daleks turn into trolls....just asking!
SuperMikey Posted 13 August, 2011 Posted 13 August, 2011 With all the sh!t we've been through as a club in the last 5 years, I am very proud to be a Saints fan tonight, sitting top of the league. What matters now is picking up as many points as possible before Christmas to put us amongst the contenders, so we can re-evaluate in January.
Dazza82 Posted 13 August, 2011 Posted 13 August, 2011 S-Clarke, Giger Saint and Dazzer.....I was joking ! Read the quote before my reply ffs ! Going by your previous posts i took it as you were being serious, Although you may have been joking i think there may of been a bit of you that was actually thinking that!
saint_jas Posted 13 August, 2011 Posted 13 August, 2011 Nice to sing we are top of the league for a change.
Gigersaint Posted 13 August, 2011 Posted 13 August, 2011 S-Clarke, Giger Saint and Dazzer.....I was joking ! Read the quote before my reply ffs ! Wasn't having a go Dalek, maybe a smiley winky thing may have helped though!
Dalek2003 Posted 13 August, 2011 Posted 13 August, 2011 Wasn't having a go Dalek, maybe a smiley winky thing may have helped though! I agree, but don't know how smiley winkey thing works !
hutch Posted 13 August, 2011 Posted 13 August, 2011 I agree, but don't know how smiley winkey thing works ! Go advanced. It's the 17th or 18th one down from the top
waggy Posted 13 August, 2011 Posted 13 August, 2011 can brighton keep up...? the Guardian are asking that self same question http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/football-league-blog/2011/aug/13/football-league-your-thoughts
whelk Posted 13 August, 2011 Posted 13 August, 2011 Make that 20th FFS And we haven't beaten anyone outside of Yorkshire yet
SNSUN Posted 13 August, 2011 Posted 13 August, 2011 Top of the League, we're looking to strengthen an already very good squad with new signings, and the Skates are down the league signing up free transfers just so they have enough players to fill the bench. It's a great time to be a Saints fan. Yes we will eventually lose a game or three, but I'm enjoying each and every game as it comes at the moment. Thank you Markus, Thank You Nicola, Thank you Nigel.
wightman35 Posted 13 August, 2011 Posted 13 August, 2011 What a great start to the season. A real battle in the last half an hour today; how many times in the past few years we would have capitulated? Well done Saints defence!
ant Posted 14 August, 2011 Posted 14 August, 2011 Just to clarify, it feels exactly as good after a f*ckton of booze. However shortlived this feeling may be, come on you reds!
Avenue Saint Posted 14 August, 2011 Posted 14 August, 2011 The most optimistic and hopeful I have felt in my time following Saints and the most striking thing for me is THE FEEL GOOD FACTOR around the club and in my experience that always comes from the top! Thank God and long may it continue.
SNOWY Posted 14 August, 2011 Posted 14 August, 2011 Cant rember when we were last top of a league. 1982 in the old first division? Lets enjoy it while it lasts
70's Mike Posted 14 August, 2011 Posted 14 August, 2011 My gut tells me teams who are top after 2 games either win the league or get relegated
Al de Man Posted 15 August, 2011 Posted 15 August, 2011 And we haven't beaten anyone outside of Yorkshire yet Our match against Leeds was outside of Yorkshire.
OttawaSaint Posted 15 August, 2011 Posted 15 August, 2011 What a great feeling, but let's not get too carried away. Don't forget how everyone was waxing lyrical about how we'd walk the champ after putting on a total football dutch revolution extravaganza up at Derby a few years back...
um pahars Posted 15 August, 2011 Posted 15 August, 2011 What a great feeling, but let's not get too carried away. Don't forget how everyone was waxing lyrical about how we'd walk the champ after putting on a total football dutch revolution extravaganza up at Derby a few years back... Not everyone
um pahars Posted 15 August, 2011 Posted 15 August, 2011 can brighton keep up...? Met a couple of Seagull fans in holibobs and asked them the same question. My suggestion that normal service has been resumed and that their only season above us (I hope I was right on that claim!!!!) is but a distant memory!!!!!!!! (they still had a bee in their bonnets about some of Adkins comments last season though!!!!).
JackFrost Posted 15 August, 2011 Posted 15 August, 2011 Cardiff have overtaken us at the top of the league ADKINS OUT!!!
VectisSaint Posted 15 August, 2011 Posted 15 August, 2011 What a great feeling, but let's not get too carried away. Don't forget how everyone was waxing lyrical about how we'd walk the champ after putting on a total football dutch revolution extravaganza up at Derby a few years back... I think your memory is playing tricks on you, was there really anyone (other than Lowe) that thought such a thing?
Minsk Posted 15 August, 2011 Posted 15 August, 2011 Cardiff have overtaken us at the top of the league ADKINS OUT!!! Cardiff are only shown as top because C comes before S in the alphabet. We are joint top with both of us having: 6 points, 4 goals for and 1 goal against. No won wonder Martin was dropped for Seaborne, if hadn't been for the last minute penalty we would have been clear at the top ADKINS BACK IN!!!
S-Clarke Posted 15 August, 2011 Posted 15 August, 2011 Well done to the person that did this! That's brilliant.
The9 Posted 15 August, 2011 Posted 15 August, 2011 Met a couple of Seagull fans in holibobs and asked them the same question. My suggestion that normal service has been resumed and that their only season above us (I hope I was right on that claim!!!!) is but a distant memory!!!!!!!! (they still had a bee in their bonnets about some of Adkins comments last season though!!!!). You think ? Our Fantasy Football League is called "Saints Web Forum", Brighton's is called "Can You Keep Up League". God I hope we're 20 points clear of them when they come to St Mary's, they'll be getting that back in spades.
The9 Posted 15 August, 2011 Posted 15 August, 2011 Just for the record, the last time we were singing "we are top of the league" before this season was at 1-0 up against QPR in the game Kelvin went walkabout and we lost 2-1. Jermaine Wright scored for us. The last time I can remember before THAT was at 2-0 up at Derby in the first game of the Premiership season circa 1999, and neither of those lasted for more than 10 minutes. Also for the record, we ARE currently still joint top, alphabetical order is not a tiebreaker in the Football League competition rules.
Lets B Avenue Posted 15 August, 2011 Posted 15 August, 2011 After checking the "Prediction League", I dont really have a problem with alphabetical order. Those at Ipswich tomorrow night will hear: I am top of the league. I say. I am top of the league. (Repeat ad nauseum)
saint lard Posted 15 August, 2011 Posted 15 August, 2011 This pic was taken in Gosport hight street, nothing like rubbing the skates' nose in it.........
Huge Baboon Posted 16 August, 2011 Posted 16 August, 2011 .....and we're back again. Hopefully for a bit longer this time.
goneawol Posted 16 August, 2011 Posted 16 August, 2011 At least two teams to lose their 100% start to the season in the Championship tomorrow.
