Huge Baboon Posted 12 August, 2011 Share Posted 12 August, 2011 From a Cherries fan at work. Has been rumoured throughout the summer, and would make sense if we fill the number 5 shirt. http://www.bournemouth.vitalfootball.co.uk/forum/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=38412&posts=
The Kraken Posted 12 August, 2011 Share Posted 12 August, 2011 A Bournemouth fans forum quoting a twitter rumour. Hardly cast iron. But if we do bring in a CB it looks like Seaborne would most likely be the one out of the door. Martin is one for the future, Jaidi will likely be number 3 if a new man comes in, if not he'll play his fair share of games with Fonte.

Glasgow_Saint Posted 12 August, 2011 Share Posted 12 August, 2011 (edited) Fox is 13! Should have been number 4. Could have had "Astra" written at the bottom..... Fox 4 Astra :) Edited 12 August, 2011 by Glasgow_Saint
The9 Posted 12 August, 2011 Share Posted 12 August, 2011 I'd expect Fox to be 13 though it's not been confirmed anywhere yet.

Foxstone Posted 12 August, 2011 Share Posted 12 August, 2011 Rather he was training with us and pushing for a place here ! I still think the guy has potential to be a good CC standard.

Matthew Le God Posted 12 August, 2011 Share Posted 12 August, 2011 don't think the number is important -is it ? more important - WHERE he plays.....and WHO he replaces... Not a difficult question, he is a left back and will play left back instead of Dan Harding.
david in sweden Posted 12 August, 2011 Share Posted 12 August, 2011 (edited) Rather he was training with us and pushing for a place here ! I still think the guy has potential to be a good CC standard. when he came (from Exeter) he was described as one of the best talents in L1..maybe thats his level ? (No disrespect). Haven't seen too many " rave reviews " over him in recent months..and let's be honest, we want someone who wouldn't be out of place when we go up to the Prem. He might not be up to it in NA eyes. If he starts becoming a star player in B'mouth line-up then he'll have improved enough to get back in contention...He'll still remain a Saints player ...as B'mouth will never find the money to buy him ! david in sweden Posted 12 August, 2011 Share Posted 12 August, 2011 (edited) Not a difficult question, he is a left back and will play left back instead of Dan Harding. It was a hypothetical question ...I don't think any of us is in doubt over that....and so his number is of little consequence. Probably one of the " ....teen " numbers...as 5 is the only spare " defensive number " and that will be reserved for a new central defender..... The9 Posted 12 August, 2011 Share Posted 12 August, 2011 I don't think any of us is in doubt over that....and so his number is of little consequence. Probabaly one of the " ....teen " numbers... You haven't been paying much attention to Adkins' numbering scheme either then ? Fox will be 13 unless he decides he doesn't want it. Then he might possibly end up with 11 or more likely in that situation the much coveted number 43 - or one of the numbers out of step with "the plan". Ideally De Ridder would have got 11 leaving 33 for Fox, but the timing obviously didn't work out for that option. As for the "teen" numbers, there are only 13 and 19 not taken, and under this season's squad number system 19 is almost certainly reserved for a striker. Bensfcno1 Posted 12 August, 2011 Share Posted 12 August, 2011 I hope He goes to Bournemouth. He was hurrendous on Tuesday night! Never really rated him, weak in the air and his long balls are predictable and below average. He did a job as cover in league one but cant see him having a similar positive contribution in the championship.

derry Posted 12 August, 2011 Share Posted 12 August, 2011 (edited) I think we missed a trick in the short term taking Seaborne instead of the experienced Elliott Ward who has been a real success at Norwich. Edited 12 August, 2011 by derry
MarkSFC Posted 12 August, 2011 Share Posted 12 August, 2011 good, get rid. would make sense why NA has played him more than RJ....i.e. get him fit and playing so someone will take him!!! Save RJ for later!!!

I expect our back 4 options will read.....Fonte / Martin / Jaidi and A new signing

I rate him (particularly his passing out of defence) and thinks he's more than adequate as a back up.

Minsk Posted 13 August, 2011 Share Posted 13 August, 2011 Sounded like Seaborne was our best player today. I personally hope he stays; but he does seem to be the boo boys latest favourite for derision.
MerceSaint28 Posted 13 August, 2011 Share Posted 13 August, 2011 Hardly best player but did okay...should of given a pen away by the sound of it as well...don't kid yourself...we need another centre half
S-Clarke Posted 13 August, 2011 Share Posted 13 August, 2011 He's a good lad to have around the squad, always rated him tbh. Wouldn't have him as a first choice, but I'd have no worries about having to throw him in - for that reason, I'd keep him around.

saint1977 Posted 19 August, 2011 Share Posted 19 August, 2011 I wouldn't loan him out, he's improved since he joined from Exeter the January before last (bear in mind that he started his career with them in the BSP) and he's left footed, which is why clubs want him. Don't get me wrong, I love what Jaidi did for us in League One but I'd have offered him a coaching deal. Seaborne and Martin would be excellent back ups who are learning their trade under a quality coaching team for a new signing at CB.
