fish fingers Posted 11 August, 2011 Posted 11 August, 2011 Just noticed that both Fox and Maynard are from Winsford, Cheshire. Not a big place. and both produce confectionary.
northam soul Posted 11 August, 2011 Posted 11 August, 2011 Adkins will have to show some good man management if we keep signing as our squad is getting very full of players who will be highly dissapointed at not playing. Can we keep the apparent good harmony that currently exists.
Saint Garrett Posted 11 August, 2011 Posted 11 August, 2011 Sure some will be disappearing. Though I do wonder why Connolly, Lambert, Barnard were all given new contracts this summer. Can't imagine any of these + Guly happy not even making the 16 squad.
Webby Posted 11 August, 2011 Posted 11 August, 2011 Connolly is not going to be able play every game. There are plenty of games for everyone to feel involved, plus it wouldn't hurt to rest Ricky once in a while. Still think we need a big strong centre half.
sussexsaint Posted 11 August, 2011 Posted 11 August, 2011 It's going to be a long old season. What with cups as well. We need a bendy bus
daveygwyatt Posted 11 August, 2011 Posted 11 August, 2011 Too soon to bet on Maynard to be top scorer in championship ?
Minsk Posted 11 August, 2011 Posted 11 August, 2011 I thought that Armitage Shanks made "Quality Plumbing Fixtures and Fittings", that's what it says on the stencil of their sanitary ware I have anyway Beat me to it. I was going to post something about Armitage Shanks and toilets in response to Derry's post too. I just hope this rumour doesn't end up going down the pan!
hypochondriac Posted 11 August, 2011 Posted 11 August, 2011 If Maynard signs, the very last thing I will be worried about is our squad being too big. We will most likely offload a few anyway. If we sign a CB and Maynard then we will get promoted.
The Kraken Posted 11 August, 2011 Posted 11 August, 2011 Too soon to bet on Maynard to be top scorer in championship ? Why not? Even is he doesn't leave Brizzle it could happen.
The Cat Posted 11 August, 2011 Posted 11 August, 2011 It's going to be a long old season. What with cups as well. We need a bendy bus Or a double decker. The players move from top deck to bottom depending on whether they are in the match day squad or not.
pap Posted 11 August, 2011 Posted 11 August, 2011 Too soon to bet on Maynard to be top scorer in championship ? I've got £25 on Saints to win the NPC outright. Feeling better about my bet if this news is true.
shurlock Posted 11 August, 2011 Posted 11 August, 2011 From the Bristol City Forum: Just messaged 'FootballAgent46' asking about situation and got following; @StephenCoombes They want another striker, easy to say, Maynard isnt top of the list because of injuries but of course he is on it.
hypochondriac Posted 11 August, 2011 Posted 11 August, 2011 So this rumour could be a load of smelly gash?
Matthew Le God Posted 11 August, 2011 Posted 11 August, 2011 reports west ham have signed maynard? wtf Where?
Alain Perrin Posted 11 August, 2011 Posted 11 August, 2011 Read into this what you will.... from @AgentSmagent Southampton to spend big, it's going to get #Messi
Hemel Saint Posted 11 August, 2011 Posted 11 August, 2011 twitter @Fourth_Official bid accepted from west ham for nicky maynard. 3.5 up front with 2m in add ons.
Saint Charlie Posted 11 August, 2011 Posted 11 August, 2011 @Fourth_Official bid accepted from west ham for nicky maynard. 3.5 up front with 2m in add ons. That wasn't Fourth Official who said that, it was a WHU fan saying it to Fourth Official, just to clarify. Seems certain we will sign a CB and a striker so lets just wait and see who!
Asaint4ever Posted 11 August, 2011 Posted 11 August, 2011 I cant see us signing him! to many other big clubs out there wanting him. please come back and kick me in the teeth!
trousers Posted 11 August, 2011 Posted 11 August, 2011 twitter The very same social networking site that said Wimbledon was riot bound on Tuesday.....?

So he expects two more signings?
Micky Posted 11 August, 2011 Posted 11 August, 2011 I am so glad that I don't do Facebook/Twitter/Bebo/Etc - tons of worthless shyte being spread all over the country. Other than the OP, who I'm hoping got the information through word of mouth, does anybody really have the low down on this one. Do we have any good ITK's anymore?
Bearsy Posted 11 August, 2011 Posted 11 August, 2011 twitterVery vague. Twitter is an online social networking and microblogging service that enables its users to send and read text-based posts of up to 140 characters
shurlock Posted 11 August, 2011 Posted 11 August, 2011 So he expects two more signings? Think he's only referring to the one signing i.e. a striker, though sounds like its common knowledge.
Ludwig Posted 11 August, 2011 Posted 11 August, 2011 The very same social networking site that said Wimbledon was riot bound on Tuesday.....? Because the site itself provides all the information, as opposed to input from users. The site is to blame if it was wrong, as opposed to the particular user providing the information.
Fowllyd Posted 11 August, 2011 Posted 11 August, 2011 and both produce confectionary. Aha! So the centre back we'll be signing is.... John Terry. It all makes sense now.
Golden Balls Posted 11 August, 2011 Posted 11 August, 2011 Great signing if we pull it off but really want a CB Who would be drop for Maynard?
Matthew Le God Posted 11 August, 2011 Posted 11 August, 2011 Great signing if we pull it off but really want a CB Who would be drop for Maynard? Connolly It would be Maynard and Lambert upfront for the majority of games if this signing happened. What makes you think signing Maynard means they wouldn't sign a centre back aswell?
fish fingers Posted 11 August, 2011 Posted 11 August, 2011 Great signing if we pull it off but really want a CB Who would be drop for Maynard? Davis, we wont need a keeper as we'll still score more.
Barry the Badger Posted 11 August, 2011 Posted 11 August, 2011 If only Burley was still here, then we could shift Connoly to right back and everybody would be happy.
ericofarabia Posted 11 August, 2011 Posted 11 August, 2011 We are The Man City of The Championship - we'll buy who we want!!
Dalek2003 Posted 11 August, 2011 Posted 11 August, 2011 Yet more wishful thinking. If we were going to sign anyone of such significance it should have been done in June.
Dr Who? Posted 11 August, 2011 Posted 11 August, 2011 We are The Man City of The Championship - we'll buy who we want!! And fail!!
saints-cris Posted 11 August, 2011 Posted 11 August, 2011 Yet more wishful thinking. If we were going to sign anyone of such significance it should have been done in June. 1, maybe 2 games in wouldnt be too bad though eh?
Golden Balls Posted 11 August, 2011 Posted 11 August, 2011 Connolly It would be Maynard and Lambert upfront for the majority of games if this signing happened. What makes you think signing Maynard means they wouldn't sign a centre back aswell? Harsh on Connolly who has earned his place. Where did I say signing Maynard means we wouldn't sign a CB? I just said I want us to sign a CB. Basically that's a more important area to strengthen IMO. You make odd comments sometimes.
CitySaint Posted 11 August, 2011 Posted 11 August, 2011 I don't think Maynard will sign, I have nothing to base this on except facts about him, our chairman and club. Too much money for a slightly injury player.
Dazza82 Posted 11 August, 2011 Posted 11 August, 2011 Yet more wishful thinking. If we were going to sign anyone of such significance it should have been done in June. Yes because two games and two wins into the season is far too late to add any players with 'significance' might aswell wait untill next June for our next transfer
sussexsaint Posted 11 August, 2011 Posted 11 August, 2011 C'mon !!! I want more good news Forecast to non league, Foxy signs, Morgan signs..... And now..........
sambosa75 Posted 11 August, 2011 Posted 11 August, 2011 Yet more wishful thinking. If we were going to sign anyone of such significance it should have been done in June. Presumably Fabregas won't be going to Barcelona now then. I'm guessing Man Utd are calling off their pursuit of Wesley Schneider too...
jam Posted 11 August, 2011 Posted 11 August, 2011 And fail!! I dunno. I'd take 3rd place and a Wembley final win if it was offered..!
This Charming Man Posted 11 August, 2011 Posted 11 August, 2011 Yet more wishful thinking. If we were going to sign anyone of such significance it should have been done in June. What utter rubbish. Deals can take months to complete for whatever reasons and I'm sure if need be, it would go down to the final day of the transfer window if Adkins wants him that much.
Golden Balls Posted 11 August, 2011 Posted 11 August, 2011 I dunno. I'd take 3rd place and a Wembley final win if it was offered..! I'd take 6th and a Wembley win.
LGTL Posted 11 August, 2011 Posted 11 August, 2011 Dalek thinks transfers are completed like on Football Manager, only taking a day or two. Bless him.
