Fergie Posted 11 August, 2011 Posted 11 August, 2011 Reported by @footballcrazy2 on twitter. Doubt it has any legs but what do we think. Potentially he's the kind o player we would be looking at, has pace and I think would score a lot in this league. But seems very similar to what we have already in Barny and conners. Would hate to see DC replaced, he's worked so hard to get back to where he is now and what a move and finish on sat! If he could stay fit we don't need another striker IMO. Thoughts...

"If" is the key problem, I don't think we can take that gamble. If he was to breakdown again, we'd be left with 3 strikers. I think another striker is essential and someone like Ebanks-Blake would be perfect. Strong, fast, athletic - the exact kind of striker we're crying out for. Wolves wouldn't sell to another club in the Prem as it would only be their relegation rivals who are interested. Imagine Leicester will be sniffing around if he is available. Could have some legs, but he is a decent player, IMO and I'd be surprised if they let him go.
itchen_dan Posted 11 August, 2011 Posted 11 August, 2011 Its actually £3.5m footballcrazy2: Southampton have £3.5million bid for Sylvan Ebanks-Blake accepted by Wolves.
shurlock Posted 11 August, 2011 Posted 11 August, 2011 Thought VFTT put this rumour to bed a while back -or at least pointed out why its pretty implausible.
Nexstar Posted 11 August, 2011 Posted 11 August, 2011 He's got a cracking scoring record at this level and is only 25. Would be very happy!
Tokyo-Saint Posted 11 August, 2011 Posted 11 August, 2011 Didn't some taxi drive claim to have dropped him at St Mary's last week? I am sure I read this on another thread. He said he was limping though...
Matthew Le God Posted 11 August, 2011 Posted 11 August, 2011 He's got a cracking scoring record at this level He sure does, he was the Championship's top goalscorer in consecutive seasons. 2007/08 Plymouth/Wolves 23 League Goals 2008/09 Wolves 25 League Goals

Kelly Smunt Posted 11 August, 2011 Posted 11 August, 2011 He didn't figure at all in there last friendly against Zaragoza and looks like plenty of subs were made. Don't know if he may be injured or whether he's in talks to leave as to why he wasn't involved.

He said he was limping though... The funny thing is, clubs would send out their own drivers these days and not use the local taxi service. Its laughable when people talk about taxis!
fos1 Posted 11 August, 2011 Posted 11 August, 2011 Don't think this is true Doyle is injured & Wolves have no back up, Ebanks is training as if he will replace Doyle on Saturday !

Its laughable when people talk about taxis! funny thing is not all clubs send drivers to ferry them to and from clubs they leave it to the player and buying club to get them meetings.
Bad Wolf Posted 11 August, 2011 Posted 11 August, 2011 I would be very happy with this. Great record in the Championship and I don't think he's that old either
Dibden Purlieu Saint Posted 11 August, 2011 Posted 11 August, 2011 Don't think this is true Doyle is injured & Wolves have no back up, Ebanks is training as if he will replace Doyle on Saturday ! I would have thought Stephen Fletcher would. Be well happy with this if true.
Saint Troy Posted 11 August, 2011 Posted 11 August, 2011 ive got a fiver on connolly to be championship top scorer at about 120-1 so really not keen for another striker!!! 30 goals by him and promotion could twist my arm though!
Saint Mikey Posted 11 August, 2011 Posted 11 August, 2011 Can't see why people are thinking this is well beyond the realms of possibility. Wolves only ever play 4-5-1, with 2 attacking wingers and an attacking CM. At the moment they would play: 1st: Doyle 2nd: Fletcher Then anyone from: Ebanks-Blake Keogh Maierhofer Vokes The last two haven't played a lot and aren't probably in the Manager's plans, but Ebanks-Blake is still 3rd or 4th choice in a team that only plays one up. Their squad is also massive and may need a trim. Not saying it will happen, but I am willing it to happen! Would be a great signing...
capitalsaint Posted 11 August, 2011 Posted 11 August, 2011 This thread ain't got nothing on the other one. Nothing.
