jim_bergerac Posted 11 August, 2011 Posted 11 August, 2011 Morning folks, according to Carling.Com the second round draw should have been made last night? Can't see any reference to it anywhere. Has the draw been delayed due to the postponements? Anyone ITK.
Pancake Posted 11 August, 2011 Posted 11 August, 2011 Thought it was after the Sheff/'Pool game tonight?
jim_bergerac Posted 11 August, 2011 Author Posted 11 August, 2011 My mistake, it does say after Thursday nights match. Foolishly thought all games would have been played and then the draw last night.
Paul75 Posted 11 August, 2011 Posted 11 August, 2011 How did you ever solve all those crimes on the Tele?
Junction 9 Posted 11 August, 2011 Posted 11 August, 2011 My mistake, it does say after Thursday nights match. Foolishly thought all games would have been played and then the draw last night. It's ok, mistakes happen sometimes. I have posted many foolish things on this forum over the years, and although it may not feel like it now, you WILL get over this.
jim_bergerac Posted 11 August, 2011 Author Posted 11 August, 2011 How did you ever solve all those crimes on the Tele? That's a good point. I did have a drink problem and unreliable old motor though!

Junction 9 Posted 11 August, 2011 Posted 11 August, 2011 I don't post much and you can see why! Ironically, I can't see why as you can't post images.
EastleighSoulBoy Posted 11 August, 2011 Posted 11 August, 2011 I was under the impression it would be drawn last night but the League website is now stating Thursday, live, on SKY Sports after the Sheff Weds V Blackpool game. http://www.football-league.co.uk/carlingcup/news/20110809/carling-cup-round-2-draw-details_2293330_2415662
Toomer Posted 11 August, 2011 Posted 11 August, 2011 Pompey home or away will do for me.............................bugger forgot they lost at home to Barnet.
jim_bergerac Posted 11 August, 2011 Author Posted 11 August, 2011 (edited) Ironically, I can't see why as you can't post images. If I could only find out how to insert a Smiley face, I could really impress you. Edited 11 August, 2011 by jim_bergerac duh!
saints_is_the_south Posted 11 August, 2011 Posted 11 August, 2011 Leyton Orient away, my fav away game of the 2 season's in League 1. Bompey away would be good too as didn't manage to get tickets for the game there last season.
NickG Posted 11 August, 2011 Posted 11 August, 2011 - Second Round draw tonight The draw for the second round of the Carling Cup will take place live on SKY Sports, following the Sheffield Wednesday v Blackpool game.
dune Posted 11 August, 2011 Posted 11 August, 2011 Draw here... http://adf.ly/2JlKy 30 sec add to watch first tho soz.
EastleighSoulBoy Posted 11 August, 2011 Posted 11 August, 2011 Is the draw on tv/radio? What time is it? dune Posted 11 August, 2011 Posted 11 August, 2011 Post #10 Cheers. Found a good stream tho posted it above.
The9 Posted 11 August, 2011 Posted 11 August, 2011 In case anyone's wondering, Sheff Wed v Blackpool is about 5 mins from the end of extra time, hence the delay in making the draw... I guess.
SNSUN Posted 11 August, 2011 Posted 11 August, 2011 ****ing extra time. Come on Wednesday. Holloway's a cockle.
Saint Craig Posted 11 August, 2011 Posted 11 August, 2011 2 rather terrible penalties there. Didn't see the game apart from the shootout but Holloway will have something to say no doubt.
dune Posted 11 August, 2011 Posted 11 August, 2011 joke - we are drawn away and waiting for the home ball
Griffo Posted 11 August, 2011 Posted 11 August, 2011 Bristol City away then by the looks of it. Great..
shurlock Posted 11 August, 2011 Posted 11 August, 2011 So whose side will Maynard be on - neither I expect
Saint Charlie Posted 11 August, 2011 Posted 11 August, 2011 Maynard's return to Bristol City....haha!
S-Clarke Posted 11 August, 2011 Posted 11 August, 2011 It's a sign! (and is this forum really dying for a 2nd round cup draw...?)
skintsaint Posted 11 August, 2011 Posted 11 August, 2011 how come we were predrawn away? dont understand that.
markr27 Posted 11 August, 2011 Posted 11 August, 2011 No idea who we're playing, nor when we're playing!
saintmatt Posted 11 August, 2011 Posted 11 August, 2011 how come we were predrawn away? dont understand that. we're unseeded, speeds up the whole process by having all the teams that can't play each other pre-drawn home or away
skintsaint Posted 11 August, 2011 Posted 11 August, 2011 we're unseeded, speeds up the whole process by having all the teams that can't play each other pre-drawn home or away Never seen that done before. Guess they want more time for Sanchez and Francis to drone on about a 0-0 game.
beatlesaint Posted 11 August, 2011 Posted 11 August, 2011 Well considering they wont play until the 2nd round date at least we will know who we get in the 3rd round if we win :-)
ludgershallsaint Posted 11 August, 2011 Posted 11 August, 2011 why wasnt B City/Swindon not unseeded? Presume seeding was based on finishing positions last season and they used Bristol City's position?
whizzpop Posted 11 August, 2011 Posted 11 August, 2011 Presume seeding was based on finishing positions last season and they used Bristol City's position? yes that makes sense hence burnley v barnet as well..strange way of doing things.
St Chalet Posted 11 August, 2011 Posted 11 August, 2011 Not the greatest of draws for us. Would have preferred home banker or glam away trip.
del boy Posted 11 August, 2011 Posted 11 August, 2011 Millwall v Morecambe Blackburn Rovers v Sheffield Wednesday Bury v Leicester City West Ham United or Aldershot Town v Carlisle United AFC Bournemouth v West Bromwich Albion Crystal Palace or Crawley Town v Wigan Athletic Peterborough United v Middlesbrough Aston Villa v Hereford United Bristol City or Swindon Town v Southampton Exeter City v Liverpool Everton v Sheffield United Brighton & Hove Albion v Sunderland Shrewsbury Town v Swansea City Reading or Charlton Athletic v Preston North End Norwich City v Milton Keynes Dons Northampton Town v Wolverhampton Wanderers Wycombe Wanderers v Nottingham Forest Bolton Wanderers v Macclesfield Town Burnley v Barnet S****horpe United v Newcastle United Leyton Orient v Watford or Bristol Rovers Doncaster Rovers v Leeds United Cardiff City v Huddersfield Town Queens Park Rangers v Rochdale
markr27 Posted 11 August, 2011 Posted 11 August, 2011 (edited) Looks possible this game will take place w/c 12th September, between the Forest and Birmingham homes games - the only free midweek slot prior to the 3rd round of games! Edited 11 August, 2011 by markr27
VectisSaint Posted 11 August, 2011 Posted 11 August, 2011 Nice draw, specially if Swindon win, can walk to the game from work. According to BBC web site BC v Swindon is on 24 August, the day after we are due to play the winners. Interesting idea. Perhaps we will play each for 45 minutes :-)
