Lallana Best Player Outside The Prem

ONLY £4M?? You kidding? Have you seen us play??

I mean 4m for hogan ephraim! Lallana = 15 million surely!?

Hogan Ephraim is an exciting young forward who has represented England at all youth levels and will make the big step up in class to the Premier League this summer. He has already turned out over 80 times for QPR during a three year career at the club and he represents a high-risk, but potentially high reward

Could almost be touting for a transfer :)

Bit of a difference between Al and AOC here. Chamberlain senior in my opinion always knew that the Saints academy was always a "shop window" for his son and maybe AOC had his head turned by the prospect that Wenger was chasing him. In AL case I think we have a bit more of a level headed player here - there will always be speculation about all SFC players following the start we have made.

If someone offers him more money, he will go. MLT's don't exist anymore.

Hmm, you never know. Besides, NC would probably try to ensure the financial gulf is not as big as it was in MLTs time, and hes going to get to the PL with us anyway.

I wonder how close we were to selling him during the Lowe Second Coming ?

Totally agree with what you are saying but on this form, if I was the manager of Tottenham, Chelsea or Man Utd looking at the way Lallana has the ability to dictate games and score so regularly, as well as the fact that he is young and English I would be scouting him with a view to a cheeky last minute bid. Lallana is the sort of player who will just get better and better when the standard of players around him improves too.

Morning Alps, enjoying the start to the season? I'm sensing fresh positivity in your posts recently and like what I'm reading!

He has the potential to be this generations Matt Le Tissier. A legend.

Not many (if any) will ever reproduce what MLT could do. But Lallana has the flair, skill and ability to run a match that MLT had. Put with that the fact he's been at the club since he was a kid and all you need to add is loyalty. Hopefully he cant buck the trand of leaving for big money to sit on someones bench.

I would love it if he grew with our club.

-Regular in a relegation to L1

-Regular in our promotion back to the Championship

-Regular in our promotion back to the Premier League

-Regular in our great escape

-Regular in our FA Cup winning side

-Regular during our European adventure

etc

Time will tell - Maybe Man Utd are the team who are keeping the closest eye on AL - According to Michael Owen Saints are on fire and he believes Saints will be "back where they belong next season" - so the start is being noticed

Apart from Saints fans who are understandably a bit biased, most neutrals would probably say that Scott Parker is the best player outside the Prem. It will certainly be a help if he moves on from WHU before we play them in October.

I agree with what you're saying but I can honestly say, if WHU offered us Scott Parker in a straight swap for Lallana, I'd tell them to fack off.

That's probably, because like most football fans (myself included) they go on the players "name" and previous reputation, rather than how they are actually currently playing.

So is there actually any chance of the site owners addressing this issue? A fair few people pay £5 for a service which doesn't actually work. A lot more people (myself included) don't use the match threads yet also pay the £5, as I potentially may want to post more than 3 times a day. Either way, a lot of people are handing over cash for a service they either don't want or can't get.

So what's the next solution?

TBH, there is fack all Bajjer and Stevie can do about Lallana if he wants to move at some point in the future. No amount of fivers waved at him will stop him. I would rather they spent the money on the server and hosting.

Lallana has been our best kept secret for a number of years. He was already our best player when we were relegated from the championship, though a few injuries here and there slowed the momentum and exposure he was getting. Lallana could have quite easily left at the beginning of the 09/10 season while the team and new ownership were trying to find their feet.

As such, Pards has to take alot of credit -whether you rate him as a manager or not. Spoke very eloquently about the need for young players to taste success and win medals -regardless of the level, since those things make a career and stay with you in a way that warming a bench somewhere on megabucks will never.

I would have thought AL is worth more than £15m. I am looking at ManU paying nigh on £20m for Phil Jones and Ashley Young. Jones is 4 years younger and Young is 3 years older. Admittedly both had PL experience but (maybe being biased) I would put AL in that category. Age is paramount, hence why there are so many free agents over 30 (no sell on value).

Put it this way, if it was a choice between AOC and AL then I think we all know which we would prefer to keep, and hence why there was no whinging when AOC went to Arsenal. It is interesting to see that a team shells out £12-15m on a player and leaves him on the bench - it would be nice to be able to afford such a luxury!

Where/when did Owen say this?
