Torquay highlights on Saints Player

Just finished watching, and obviously not at the game. Lee Holmes and De Ridder looked excellent in the highlights. Holmes looks like a proper handful. De Ridder looked good all round, his goal was quality.

Bart's save was really good - instinctive - good quality for a goalie. Torquay looked like they gave us a good game, but both sides had good chances that didn't happen. Footy, innit.

I know it's only highlights, but some of our attacking is beautiful at the moment. Can't wait for the next game.

Torquay's goal- shocking defending. Seen rioters given less time and space.

Got to get a CB in asap. Even Dickson didn't look too clever.

Yeah, I had the Benny Hill song going through my head when I saw that.

Cracking set of Highlights.

De Ridder's turn and strike was outstanding.... as was Rickie's freekick.

Yes, the marking for Torquay's goal was sh*te, stay alert lads.

Bart's save was Blayney-esque, utterly fantastic.

Chaplow had a superb game, deserved a goal. So did Lallana when he came on, his drive deserved better then the crossbar.

Great turn in from Forte after Chaplow's cross.

Have to say Holmes looks excellent there, against League 2 opposition admittedly. He could come in handy this season.

De Ridder looks good but does get done defensively on the overlap second half... I guess that ties in with Adkins saying he needs to work on his tracking back.

On the basis of those highlights, I agree. He's a bit of a forgotten man.

I don't know if he really is injury prone or whether he's just had a couple of shocking pieces of bad luck.

He does look like a useful squad player though, especially as I'd say we have a lack of overall pace in our starting XI.

Can't see it on the phone , but the most important question is... Do they show the ref being smacked in the face and falling over?

Yes they do, and fair dues to the boy, he was straight back up on his feet - no rolling about feigning injury as most Namby Pamby over paid primadonna footballers would have done!! :toppa:

And who would mark the other Saints players they would have to leave in order to join a now 6 man wall?

Look at the video, they already have 2 men hanging around near the wall not marking anybody closely. It was bloody obvious what Saints were doing so at least one of them needed to get much closer.

Also they could move the whole wall a step to the left. Now none of this would neccesarily have prevented it, it's a great free kick, but I'm certain their manager would be dissapointed with just how easy they made it for us.

Is it just me or did Chappers look really really good. I know it is only Torquay but he still has to see the pass etc. It was a fantastic outside of the foot pass to De Ridder which in turn was also a great turn and shot!

Really feeling quite good right now about how we are playing. Think there could be a regular swap of players throughout the season. Holmes looked good as well and his vision of the game was brilliant and he has a really good cross on him.

Dont think anyone has questioned his ability...just it looks like he will have a career plagued by injury unfortunately. Gives us good balance on the left when I have seen him play (albiet mostly in highlights).
