Hatch Posted 9 August, 2011 Share Posted 9 August, 2011 i'm still trying to get my head around the concept of 'planned riots'. Surely riots by their very nature are spontaneous and if planned the appropriate authority can make plans to stop it from happening. Even so, just putting up posters showing that the 'fence rattlers' at Saints/Pompey got long custodial sentences, would be enough to put anyone off being a silly bugger. saint.tom.clancy Posted 9 August, 2011 Share Posted 9 August, 2011 Work pretty much next to it, police came in asking if we had any outside cctv. F*cking c*nts, seriously didn't think it would start down here, really hope it doesn't - were better than that. If it does I hope the police are up to it, if not i have a feeling a few people will take it into their own hands and it could get nasty.
Smirking_Saint Posted 9 August, 2011 Share Posted 9 August, 2011 Its not so much planned Riots, its people looking at whats happened in London and other areas and thinking, 'Hang on a minute, they got to do what they wanted, lets see if we can get away from it' Its f*cking disgusting. Just get the army in, rubber bullets, tear gas and water cannons, why we pussy foot around these lowlives is beyond me. The lack of real action by the police is IMHO caused by the liberal elite, and their belief that the world can work with hugs and soft voices. SNSUN Posted 9 August, 2011 Share Posted 9 August, 2011 We are heading for a civil war. Sooner or later vigilantes will take to the streets just like in Cairo. This. I've been predicting vigilantism for years. As much faith as I have in the Police, there just aren't enough of them and more and more young people are running feral. Communties, business people and the law abiding will soon take matters into their own hands to sort this mindless violence out. Fights will occur, more people will die. It sounds far fetched but it is seemingly very possible. The scenes of the last 3 nights could run and run. 16,000 officers on the streets tonight is all well and good, but: a) it's too little too late and b) it won't be 16,000 every night. This country is really looking like the pits, and these young people are our future. I'm worried.

Jonnyboy Posted 9 August, 2011 Share Posted 9 August, 2011 Anyone alarmed at Southampton riot rumours should follow #Hantspolice on twitter http://twitter.com/h antspolice As of a few minutes ago, they tweeted: "No reports of disorder anywhere in #Hants or #IOW at this time." "Please keep calm and check our feed for accurate info" They are doing a marvellous job of keeping people informed, stopping panic, and rumour, and tracking and referring for criminal investigation any fools who attempt to incite riots on social media eg:twitter users inciting riot have been sent messages similar to this "It is an offence to commit or encourage riot. Your msg has been referred for consideration for criminal investigation #police" Further recent tweets from Hantspolice: "CSupt Karen Manners is leading our response to events in #London and its impact on policing in #Hampshire and the #IsleofWight" "CSupt Manners “It’s understandable that having watched the national media, people may be concerned but our streets are safe" "I can assure you that we have NO reports of disorder in #Southampton at this time. We are fully prepared if that changes." "No reports of disorder whatsoever in #Southampton or in fact anywhere across the two counties at this time." Residents have been sending messages of support to Hants Police: "So proud to be from Southampton right now. @HantsPolice use of social networking last night to inform & calm communities was excellent!" Idiots Trouble is smirker, the Met wont touch anyone of a darker hue nowadays, not since steven lawrence. A mate of mine in streatham told me last night that the actual thieving was being done mainly by eastern europeans, who are faster and more efficient and have vans, and leaving the uk in droves anyway since the work dried up.
