The best thing I ever did was leave the UK. As much as I miss it, it's not the same place anymore. A once great country is overrun by thugs, criminals and freeloaders. I feel so sorry for the people affected by these animals. I hope you all stay safe.

The irony. You are aware of the history of Oz? It used to be a requirement of entry. LOL. That made I laugh.

Appreciate the sentiments but I'm pretty sure Australia had a few disturbances a year or so back. Happens all over the place every now and again, nothing to be unduly woried about.

Ive just been told a job centre has been set on fire in southampton!

Anyone else heard this?

No, some disenfranchised Herbert was p*ssed off that his Giro didn't arrive that he hoiked a brick through the window and poured some booze inside, then ran off.

Sorry to hear that. Really hope you're an isolated case. The worst thing about events like this is that people actually start to believe the lazy right wing fear-mongering media. This is a tiny minority of people. Serious, but tiny.

More people will get involved in the cleanup voluntarily than people that caused the trouble. The vast majority of people around the country are decent an honest. Most also know not to be manipulated by the press and believe everything. It's still a great country with a huge amount to offer a huge variety of people. It's lazy and easy to romanticise the past, but it's not correct. I'd rather be living here now than anytime in the past. A tiny percentage of immoral, thieving, violent (for whatever reason) idiots doesn't and won't make this a bad place to live. Overreaction and a 'broken britain' daily mail attitude could though.

Let's please show we're better, and more intelligent than that.

Absolutely, I'm not sure what's worse - the senseless and apparently pointless riots in the first place or the hysterical anticipation for rioting. I'm currently watching South Today reporting on nothing happening....you couldn't make it up.

I'd rather eat.my own nose than consider moving to ostralia. I always wander.what these emigrants are REALLY running away from. Family feuds, in particular ****ing off parents, must be high on the list.

Home is England, abroad is abroad. End of.

Some wisdom there!

Heard via my daughter that youths were allegedly trying to start a riot in the Oracle in Reading yesterday. Running through the shops trying to scare and intimidate people. It speaks volumes about these people that they completely avoided Waterstones

Waterstones made a press release. Perhaps they should loot one of our bookshops. Maybe they would learn something.
