Roger Posted 8 August, 2011 Posted 8 August, 2011 We could do a lot worse although I guess it may be too late with his attitude. We need cb and cf and a quick winger imo but if de ridder and lallana got injured are holmes and dickson good enough and who is the right mid left to come in if we let punch go. Guly yes but hes not at his best there is he?
derry Posted 8 August, 2011 Posted 8 August, 2011 Let him go and get a reliable, stable, replacement in.
Roger Posted 8 August, 2011 Author Posted 8 August, 2011 Let him go and get a reliable, stable, replacement in. We will need a replacement. As I said we let punch go then who do we have on the right if de ridder gets injured?
benjii Posted 8 August, 2011 Posted 8 August, 2011 We will need a replacement. As I said we let punch go then who do we have on the right if de ridder gets injured? Guly, Lallana, Holmes... there's only so much cover you need.
Toadhall Saint Posted 8 August, 2011 Posted 8 August, 2011 Punch will not wear the Red & White of Saints ever again - rightly or wrongly it matters not.
Thedelldays Posted 8 August, 2011 Posted 8 August, 2011 Who started on the right the other day We don't really play a traditional 442 anyway
Roger Posted 8 August, 2011 Author Posted 8 August, 2011 Guly, Lallana, Holmes... there's only so much cover you need. Gulys not so effective there tho, lallana plays on left if hes moved then holmes is very injury prone.
CanadaSaint Posted 8 August, 2011 Posted 8 August, 2011 When it comes to player personnel decisions there's a new imperative in the equation at SMS and I'm very glad to see it: Does he meet a known need? Is the asking price fair? Does he fit within our salary structure? and the new one - as important in NA's and NC's eyes as the others: Is he a "team first" guy who will contribute to team chemistry? That being the case I'd say Puncheon is a risk they're not willing to take.
JustMike Posted 8 August, 2011 Posted 8 August, 2011 De ridder, guly, chaplow 3 that are more than capable on the right
Le Timmier Posted 8 August, 2011 Posted 8 August, 2011 Without a complete personality transplant, no.

beatlesaint Posted 8 August, 2011 Posted 8 August, 2011 De ridder, guly, chaplow 3 that are more than capable on the right Absolutely, and we can even play 4-3-3 if needs be.
Glasgow_Saint Posted 8 August, 2011 Posted 8 August, 2011 If you knew what he did to **** off NA you would NEVER want him in our team again...... Trust me
S-Clarke Posted 8 August, 2011 Posted 8 August, 2011 He will never ever play for us again. Hopefully his move will be wrapped up soon.
Roger Posted 8 August, 2011 Author Posted 8 August, 2011 He will never ever play for us again. Hopefully his move will be wrapped up soon. How do you know that these things are happening s-clarke. Franks cousin reckons we will use the money to pay back marcus investment and not buy anyone? What do you think?
DJ_TOAST Posted 8 August, 2011 Posted 8 August, 2011 yawnnnnn is bad enough the Echo keep going on about Puncheon...don't need it on here aswell. Has the message NA put out that he isn't welcome just gone over your head ??
S-Clarke Posted 8 August, 2011 Posted 8 August, 2011 How do you know that these things are happening s-clarke. Franks cousin reckons we will use the money to pay back marcus investment and not buy anyone? What do you think? Don't forget that there was also money to spend before this lump sum from Arsenal. (as demonstrated by the 3.5m bid for Sharp)
Legod Third Coming Posted 8 August, 2011 Posted 8 August, 2011 Noooo! This bus needs no passangers! I want someone who will get out and push if needs be - not someone who will whinge because the on-board toilet isn't scented...
Roger Posted 8 August, 2011 Author Posted 8 August, 2011 Don't forget that there was also money to spend before this lump sum from Arsenal. (as demonstrated by the 3.5m bid for Sharp) Do you know someone is coming here mate?
Roger Posted 8 August, 2011 Author Posted 8 August, 2011 Do you know someone is coming here mate? You think franks cousin is wrong?
Gorgiesaint Posted 8 August, 2011 Posted 8 August, 2011 There is no danger of a) Adkins letting Puncheon anywhere near the squad & b) Puncheon wanting to be anywhere near the squad anyway, so move on, he's yesterdays news. The sooner we can farm him off to QPR the better - for all concerned. Don't agree that we need another winger, a quality CB and striker maybe, otherwise I think we're well set for the season. It's now about getting a couple of additions to the squad to add to what we've got, not making wholesale changes and upsetting the spirit and balance that's already there. Saturday showed the difference between what a cohesive team that know each others games can do against a team with a few new players who are yet to gel.
Roger Posted 8 August, 2011 Author Posted 8 August, 2011 Wade Elliot and JR would be nice. Wade would come here too. Elliott too old, I played against him, he played for eastleigh tornadoes.
scott_saints Posted 8 August, 2011 Posted 8 August, 2011 I'm in the minority, but I hope he decides he has a futture here. Quality player when not being booed.
SaintNeil90 Posted 8 August, 2011 Posted 8 August, 2011 I'm in the minority, but I hope he decides he has a futture here. Quality player when not being booed. He decides? He doesnt have a choice mate. Adkins made it for him.
Danish Saint Posted 8 August, 2011 Posted 8 August, 2011 Puncheon has clearly demostrated he doesn't want to be part of what NC and NA is building at Saints, so get rid of him ASAP.. and he can take Forecast with him.
st.sj Posted 8 August, 2011 Posted 8 August, 2011 He will never fit in to our team ethic. Hopefully he will be gone soon.
saintalton Posted 8 August, 2011 Posted 8 August, 2011 Nope I would rather bring imants bleidelis out of retirement than have that useless overrated self absorbed idiot back in our team, he is bad news and better of else where. If Nigel doesn't rate him, then I trust his judgement!
krissyboy31 Posted 8 August, 2011 Posted 8 August, 2011 Not while Adkins is at the club and probably not while Cortese is at the club. If we have a quickfire takeover then there maybe a chance.
musesaint Posted 8 August, 2011 Posted 8 August, 2011 Not while Adkins is at the club and probably not while Cortese is at the club. If we have a quickfire takeover then there maybe a chance. So not a snowball's chance in hell then
Windmill Arm 2 Posted 8 August, 2011 Posted 8 August, 2011 Why do people insist on starting ridiculous ******* threads like this?
scotty Posted 8 August, 2011 Posted 8 August, 2011 Why do people insist on starting ridiculous ******* threads like this? If you think this is bad, check out the op's other threads. No offence intended.
Turkish Posted 8 August, 2011 Posted 8 August, 2011 Elliott too old, I played against him, he played for eastleigh tornadoes. So did I!! Different age group though.Happy times they were.
SNSUN Posted 8 August, 2011 Posted 8 August, 2011 I'd have chucked Puncheon into any deal involving Oxo tbf. I never want to see him in a Saints shirt again, even if his gets on his knees and apologises for thinking he's better than us. Sell him, get a better, more contented replacement in. I must admit I thought Chaplow had a pretty good cameo on the right when he came on against Leeds, so that's another option, but I would expect to see Oxo and Punch out and one more winger brought in, as well as that elusive CB and Striker spots.
terrypward Posted 9 August, 2011 Posted 9 August, 2011 Why lock a door like that if you can just walk around it?
sammysaint Posted 9 August, 2011 Posted 9 August, 2011 great player poor attitude and to be honest lallana and derider are better players and going to start ahead of him, but i would keep him as a back up if no one takes him, but the swap deal looks good for us experinced CB to go with fonte and RJ so we can loan martin out and seabourne to get some regular football.
Badger Posted 9 August, 2011 Posted 9 August, 2011 No chance. Even if he and the club publicly 'made up' it would only be a matter of time before he has a sulk and disrupts team spirit. The sooner he f^cks off the better.
Foxstone Posted 9 August, 2011 Posted 9 August, 2011 Noooo! This bus needs no passangers! I want someone who will get out and push if needs be - not someone who will whinge because the on-board toilet isn't scented... A truly magnificent analogy !
