Is the door open for Punchon to return?

We could do a lot worse although I guess it may be too late with his attitude. We need cb and cf and a quick winger imo but if de ridder and lallana got injured are holmes and dickson good enough and who is the right mid left to come in if we let punch go. Guly yes but hes not at his best there is he?

When it comes to player personnel decisions there's a new imperative in the equation at SMS and I'm very glad to see it:

Does he meet a known need?

Is the asking price fair?

Does he fit within our salary structure?

and the new one - as important in NA's and NC's eyes as the others:

Is he a "team first" guy who will contribute to team chemistry?

That being the case I'd say Puncheon is a risk they're not willing to take.

Good point well made.

He will never ever play for us again.

Hopefully his move will be wrapped up soon.

How do you know that these things are happening s-clarke. Franks cousin reckons we will use the money to pay back marcus investment and not buy anyone? What do you think?

Don't forget that there was also money to spend before this lump sum from Arsenal. (as demonstrated by the 3.5m bid for Sharp)

There is no danger of a) Adkins letting Puncheon anywhere near the squad & b) Puncheon wanting to be anywhere near the squad anyway, so move on, he's yesterdays news.

The sooner we can farm him off to QPR the better - for all concerned. Don't agree that we need another winger, a quality CB and striker maybe, otherwise I think we're well set for the season. It's now about getting a couple of additions to the squad to add to what we've got, not making wholesale changes and upsetting the spirit and balance that's already there. Saturday showed the difference between what a cohesive team that know each others games can do against a team with a few new players who are yet to gel.

I'd have chucked Puncheon into any deal involving Oxo tbf. I never want to see him in a Saints shirt again, even if his gets on his knees and apologises for thinking he's better than us. Sell him, get a better, more contented replacement in.

I must admit I thought Chaplow had a pretty good cameo on the right when he came on against Leeds, so that's another option, but I would expect to see Oxo and Punch out and one more winger brought in, as well as that elusive CB and Striker spots.

great player poor attitude and to be honest lallana and derider are better players and going to start ahead of him, but i would keep him as a back up if no one takes him, but the swap deal looks good for us experinced CB to go with fonte and RJ so we can loan martin out and seabourne to get some regular football.
