Deppo Posted 24 October, 2008 Posted 24 October, 2008 The House Of Love-Butterfly album that has no proper title. It's not even eponymous, though people call it The House Of Love by default. Ahem...yawn.

Chapello Posted 27 October, 2008 Posted 27 October, 2008 An obvious one, I know: Kings of Leon latest. Good album. Can't wait to see them in Bmth in Dec. It's just typical that the Levellers are at the Guildhall the same night!

Rory Posted 27 October, 2008 Posted 27 October, 2008 Grandmaster Flash & The Furious Five - The Message Best hip hop album ever. Fact. Hell no. It's clearly Illmatic by Nas. The Message doesn't even make my top 10. Zoinks!
miserableoldgit Posted 27 October, 2008 Posted 27 October, 2008 bellowhead. brilliant original (mostly ) English music. The new album Matachin is superb! They are very exciting live. Have seen them 3 or 4 times as well as Jon Boden (who went to Henry Beaufort School in Winchester) and John Spiers as a duo. Wonderful stuff!

Pancake Posted 28 October, 2008 Posted 28 October, 2008 Valor del Corazon What do you think of it? Im a bit "meh" about it, some great tracks but an awful lot of filler...
Pancake Posted 28 October, 2008 Posted 28 October, 2008 Bloc Party - Intimacy. Im liking this very very much.
Ponty Posted 28 October, 2008 Posted 28 October, 2008 What do you think of it? Im a bit "meh" about it, some great tracks but an awful lot of filler... Well, there's 19 or so tracks aren't there? I guess if you take out the filler you're still left with a decent album. It was disappointing a couple of years ago (when I wanted it desperately to be a Wildhearts album) I guess, but I quite like it now.

It was disappointing a couple of years ago (when I wanted it desperately to be a Wildhearts album) I guess, but I quite like it now. I have to admit I havent revisited it for a while, might give it a go this afternoon. "Ugly", "yeah yeah yeah" and "Drunken Lord..." are like Wildhearts-lite. Much better is the album "A Break In The Weather", a collection of the Singles Club a-sides and b-sides.
Wiltshire Saint Posted 29 October, 2008 Posted 29 October, 2008 Ray Lamontagne's new one. I like it, not as good as the other two, but still very good. Nice to see him trying some different styles, with one very country song on the album. Before that Band of Horses "Cease to Begin", which really hasn't been off for weeks now.

Pancake Posted 29 October, 2008 Posted 29 October, 2008 Bloc Party - Intimacy. Im liking this very very much. Still listening to this, But Im trying to work other albums around it that work with it. blink-182 by Blink 182, Dig Your Own Hole by The Chemical Brothers and Myths of The Near Future by the Klaxons seem to work well with it.

Pancake Posted 3 November, 2008 Posted 3 November, 2008 Stabbing Westward - Darkest Days. An excellent "dark" metal-ish concept album.
Rory Posted 3 November, 2008 Posted 3 November, 2008 This album cover looks like a *****. Describes the music fittingly. I like the album cover and name to this one. It's very fitting for the guy currently residing in White Hart Lane.
