Bloody hell!

(runs off to iTunes...)

EDIT: Gah, its not out until 6th Feb

(runs off to TPB)

Aw yeah, that is **** hot Seany. Nice one sir, made my weekend.

Good innit? That nine minute long second track is off the chain. Superb album.

New Mark Lanagan album has arrived, not listened yet so will post my thoughts later!

Ital - Hive Mind. S'laaaahrvley. All wonky bisexual dub sounds. Quite Orb in places. This release carries the 'Ringing Dinger' endorsement.

Posted

Oren Ambarchi - Audience of One. Quietly intense, minimal electronic drone-jazz (w/occasional crooning). A beautiful, personal album from someone who can often be vibrantly abstract. Another dinger donger.

Back on Led Zep when I was on the cross trainer yesterday. Bloody hell they were good!

Indeed.

Daughter's stuff currently all I can seem to lay my hands on in the car, Found Foo Fighters Greatest Hits CD

Another spell of Arch Enemy - Angela Gossow is the best looking death metal vocalist I've seen, mind you that's isn't difficult.

OK an update - you guys were great with your advice.

Yes I saw James Blunt. Yes he was really good. (In my defence I did keep a scorecard in the all you can drink Box this year so plead 14 glasses of Tattinger & 5 double VodkaRedBulls as my defence. And one awful mistake - poured a triple Red Label on the Rocks into a half drunk Vodka Red Bull & gulped - don't EVER make that mistake) TBF to him he did acknowledge the poor suffering Hubbies/Boyfriends who had been dragged along & apologised to us.

Strange this place has gone gig mad next 3 weeks. We have a World Music festival Amr Diab, George Benson & Gabrielle amongst other names in the week long line up, clashing with Duran Duran David Guetta Snow Patrol Calvin Harris The Eagles etc.

The big lolage though?

Madonna is coming....

No really......

In JUNE....

For an OUTDOOR gig.

Normal June temperatures are around 42C with 80% Humidity.

Her pre-sale tickets sold out in 10 minutes which for here is a record.

50 quid to stand in a sauna for two hours listening to Madge while wedged in amongst 20,000 people..

Feck that I'm going to Italy

We are slowly getting some local bands up and running Beat Antenna played support for Kasabian last week

Will find a few others

Bought "Nothing is Wrong" some months ago. It is brilliant.

I told my daughter that I was now down with the kids and hip as I had a "download" of a modern band. Her reply was "they maybe young, but it's old mans music". LOL

I have checked out that Dawes album - about six listens clocked up.

I shall play it in the car tomorrow, and we'll get an idea of whether it's old man's music or not.

Very good shout from the people who recommended, seconded and thirded that Dawes album.

As promised, I played a track on the school run this morning - "A Little Bit of Everything". Juvenile Unit #1 said "that's alright, actually", which is about as positive a response as is possible from a sixteen-year old.

This lot are appealing to my warped sense of humour at the moment

Givemeister

Lady Gaga??

Or maybe 9 million bicycles in Beijing

He seems to be a serious Dutch "singer" but we did ROFL at the start to Bad Romance

Someone I know slightly gave me a couple of cd's by Joe Bonamassa. Never heard of him before, but I was blown away by them, terrific blues-rock guitarist, I've been playing them non stop for a week now. Terrific stuff, highly recommended.

Bonobo - Black Sands

The Herbaliser - Something Wicked This Way Comes

Roots Manuva - Brand New Second Hand

None of these songs or bands exist.

You'll be telling me next that The Beatles were the best band ever.

They didn't exist either.

Archers Of Loaf - Icky Mettle.

lol, I love the way that you are basically me, in musical taste terms.

On the way to work this morning it was "Vs." by Mission of Burma. What a groundbreaking album that was, still sounds amazing.

Saturday morning I had to give my bro a lift to play golf and listened to the entirety of Minutemen "Double Nickels on The Dime" - all 43 tracks, driving through the forest, in the sunshine. It was awesome.

Throw in the Black Flag, Dinosaur and Sonic Youth I have returned to in the past week and my life has been a bit on an SST/80s indie records love in.
