That Iceage album is grand.

I just got the new Wilco record, "The Whole Love" which is more of the same (i.e. excellent, semi-experimental Americana) from one of the very few bands who seldom, if ever, let me down.

I am also listening to

Das Racist - Relax

Blitzen Trapper - American Goldwing

Fugazi - In On The Kill Taker

I've just discovered The Leisure Society, just the kind of stuff I love. The Sleeper is an excellent album.

This song - 'We Were Wasted' is almost entirely ripped off from 'River Man' by Nick Drake, but it's bloody brilliant. The strings are fantastic.

Theres a lot of this tosh around at the moment. Vaguely folky acoustic rural ******** made by public schoolboys whose mummies brought them thier instruments.Like Mumford And Sons, Ed Sheenan etc. innofensive interchangeable crap that can be played on Radio 2, Radio 6 , Radio 1 and as "quirky" background music for Mobile Phone adverts.

As liked by the sort of people that hang out at the Rose Bowl

Not a huge fan of Mumford and certainly not one of Ed Sheeran, but I agree that this type of music is mostly made by posh d!cks. Still, there's genuinely some very good stuff being written by very talented people that gets put into the same bracket as most of the rubbish that's around at the moment.

Polly Jean Harvey on the Andrew Marr show last Sunday. Some bloke called David Cameron as well.

The Last Living Rose

Let England Shake is fast becoming one of my all time favourite albums.

Bloody hell missed that ! Superb album despite the fact it is being heavily advertised and in danger of being popular.

Her lyrics and voice are powerful enough (as always), but the album performed live is almost overwhelming. I saw her earlier on the tour and I've got tickets for both nights at the Albert Hall.

Not like I'm obsessed or anything. :o

Absolutely nought wrong with 'folkey' music when played well.

There's a group from Deal in Kent called Cocos Lovers, they are exceptionally good, some may have spotted them at Glastonbury. You can find some of their stuff on the internet but it really does not do them justice.

We saw them busking at the Deal Maritime and Folk Festival last month and they caused a pedestrian traffic jam. If anyone is ever down that way and see's flyers for The Private Widdle Club at The Astor Theatre, they often support the main acts, give them a try.

Ref my post above, something REALLY spooky just happened. If you know who Private Widdle is/was, then how come Phil Jupitus has his picture emblazoned across his chest on Buzzcocks tonight?

Private Widdle was a character played by Charles Awtrey, the legendary Carry On actor who lived (and died) in Deal. WTF is going on, is it the sign that I've been expecting perhaps?????

The new Evanescence album is currently on 'repeat' on my iPhone whilst driving from appointment to appointment.

For anyone into Metal/Rock or similar I would highly recommend it, much better then their last album and without the commercially friendly feel of their debut. It's also surprisingly varied in it's approach, ranging from dancing influences through to the more symphonic stuff that has been seen from them before.

Kuedo - Severant

Supposed to be the future of electronic music, according to various reviews. Sounds very much like Vangelis to me. Not that that's a bad thing, particularly...

just done a Goggle of this & had a listen.

its like a Dubstep/Vangelis/early Depeche Mode sound to me.

i'm liking it. cheers for the heads up ;)
