Pancake Posted 4 February, 2010 Share Posted 4 February, 2010 I have been trying to find a song for ages, I am sure it was in Romeo and Juliet and a sky sports advert, sounds like Ian Browns F.E.A.R anyone know of it?? Any other info? Which Sky advert? Certainly nowt on the Romeo + Juliet OST that has the F.E.A.R vibe to it. Maybe the UNKLE remix of F.E.A.R? Julian H. Cope Posted 5 February, 2010 Author Share Posted 5 February, 2010 Only got one EP by Ride - "Today Forever". I love the track "Unfamiliar". What else would you recommend? Nowhere. Going Blank Again. Carnival Of Light. I wouldn't recommend their last studio album Tarantula though, it's not that good IMO. You can always try it out on Spotify to see if you agree. Wiltshire Saint Posted 7 February, 2010 Share Posted 7 February, 2010 The following were on yesterday: The Besnard Lakes - The Besnard Lakes are the Dark Horse. Beach House - Teen Dream Midlake - The courage of others. First listen. I obtained it after booking tickets to see them the week after next. I have been waiting for them to come over here and do some gigs. Nice album. Certainly not as good as Van Occupanther, with nothing that really stands out. A bit more gentle than the last one, but a good collection of folky songs. The Pains of Being Pure at Heart - The Pains of bieng pure at heart a variety of songs by Villagers, from his myspace site, which were pretty good. Saw him supporting Fyfe Dangerfield and thought he was good on stage.....a little odd and very intense, but good.

Rory Posted 7 February, 2010 Share Posted 7 February, 2010 Nice selection of listens, Wiltshire Saint. A perfect lazy Sunday line-up. Midlake - The courage of others. First listen. I obtained it after booking tickets to see them the week after next. I have been waiting for them to come over here and do some gigs. Nice album. Certainly not as good as Van Occupanther, with nothing that really stands out. A bit more gentle than the last one, but a good collection of folky songs. This is the general consensus from a lot of music publications. I've not heard much Midlake but some love it but some have slated it. I might obtain it and give it a go. I am looking forward to Shearwater's new album this year. I think you may like it judging from your recent listens. I'm listening to The Big Pink's album at the moment, getting ready to see them next weekend. Shamefully excited!
