jeff leopard Posted 3 February, 2010 Posted 3 February, 2010 In Rainbows - this is that strange and wonderful musical beast, the album that gets better with each listen. For a while people who’s opinion I rate have been whispering that this is Radiohead’s best album, and I’m starting to concur.

You know I havent played that for ages, going to have to dig it out now and Ive it a, errrr... "process"? Whats the modern version of "spin" for digital files?

Whats the modern version of "spin" for digital files? Whilst I think it loses something in translation, technically I think it's "decode" (assuming your files are compressed in some way).

Depends if you're going to 'play it out', I suppose. But the first few listens definitely reveal a few lost classics.

Whats the modern version of "spin" for digital files? In Rainbows 2 is worth a listen too, its about 30 minutes worth of stuff that didn’t make it onto the first album, and whilst some of the tracks sound a bit b-sidey, it has some absolute corkers - 4 Minute Warning being one of their best ever tracks IMO.
Scudamore Posted 3 February, 2010 Posted 3 February, 2010 Solesides Greatest Bumps & Quannum Spectrum. The second of those is the dog's danglies...
Pancake Posted 3 February, 2010 Posted 3 February, 2010 The second of those is the dog's danglies... But Greatest Bumps contains "Send Them", "Rhyme Like A Nut" and "Entropy"... OK, so Spectrum has "I Changed My Mind", "Divine Intervention" and "Looking Over A City"... damn, its close.

Block 5 Posted 3 February, 2010 Posted 3 February, 2010 Solesides Greatest Bumps & Quannum Spectrum. Good stuff. Both excellent, but if I had to choose a favourite I'd plump for the latter.
Block 5 Posted 3 February, 2010 Posted 3 February, 2010 DJ Shadow / Q-Bert - 'Camel Bobsled Race'. DJ Q-Bert - 'Demolition Pumpkin Squeeze Music'.
Pancake Posted 3 February, 2010 Posted 3 February, 2010 Robert Glasper - In My Element. Jazz, baby... yeahhhh.

Snap. This has on in my car for the last 2 days. When did "2" come out and is it on CD form or do I have to get all "teckie" and learn how to dwnload?
Rory Posted 3 February, 2010 Posted 3 February, 2010 In Rainbows is their best album. I was listening to this last night: http://teamteamwork.bandcamp.com/album/vinyl-fantasy-7 If you ever played Final Fantasy 7, you'll love it. It's music from the game remixed over hip-hop tracks. Top notch entertainment.
Pancake Posted 3 February, 2010 Posted 3 February, 2010 Have any of yous guys heard the Quannum at the Beeb recordings? I believe the word is 'dope'. Breezeblock session? Ya, das iz da awesum.
Block 5 Posted 3 February, 2010 Posted 3 February, 2010 Frankie Goes to Hollywood - 'Welcome to the Pleasure Dome'. Trevor Horn is a genius as the title track from this otherwise unremarkable album proves.

Julian H. Cope Posted 3 February, 2010 Author Posted 3 February, 2010 Beach House - Teen Dream You know what, it's beautiful.
Wiltshire Saint Posted 3 February, 2010 Posted 3 February, 2010 Blakroc - Blakroc Not sure about this. I love the Black Keys and this collaboration with some rap people is good in places but doesn't work in other places. For me, the rap overtakes the rocky blues, and I like the rocky blues. Fyfe Dangerfield - Fly Yellow Moon A couple of songs that are below average but some brilliant and beautiful songs. Slow ballards, some sounding like the Guillemots.
