Block 5 Posted 21 January, 2010 Posted 21 January, 2010 My days are all turned round at the moment, due to being a bit off-colour. Can't sleep, and am going to listen to a few episodes of The Navy Lark at very low volume, in the hope it'll lull me off to zzZZzzZZ land. Here goes. Goodnight anybody else awake at this time of night, and goodday to Saint in Paradise, and other eastern hemisphere Saints fans. Hope you're feeling a bit better mate.
Block 5 Posted 21 January, 2010 Posted 21 January, 2010 Brian Eno - Music For Airports Good stuff. I would recommend Brian Eno & David Byrne's "My Life in the Bush of Ghosts" but I'm sure you are already familiar with it.
Deppo Posted 21 January, 2010 Posted 21 January, 2010 I know about it, but have never bought it. I may just do that.
Block 5 Posted 21 January, 2010 Posted 21 January, 2010 I know about it, but have never bought it. I may just do that. Highly recommended. It was re-issued a couple of years back with the usual extra tracks and comprehensive notes. I can send you the MP3s. PM me if you're interested mate.
Seany S Posted 22 January, 2010 Posted 22 January, 2010 Interpol - Turn On The Bright Lights One of the bestest debut albums ever, that.
Rory Posted 22 January, 2010 Posted 22 January, 2010 One of the bestest debut albums ever, that. My favourite ever album. Listened to Cass McCombs -- Catacombs last.
Block 5 Posted 22 January, 2010 Posted 22 January, 2010 The L.A. Carnival - 'Would Like to Pose a Question'.
Marsdinho Posted 22 January, 2010 Posted 22 January, 2010 Why? Is it any good? Its ok, bit different, but not as good as the original...
SuperMikey Posted 22 January, 2010 Posted 22 January, 2010 Really into Dan Mangan at the moment, he's a singer songwriter from Canada just about to release his second album over here. Watch out for him, he might just launch a sneaky attack on the scene over here in the UK. Hope he comes to play some live shows too, i'm a little bit in love with him. Also listening to a lot of Fleet Foxes and Band of Horses at the moment too, but you already know about them...

RonManager Posted 22 January, 2010 Posted 22 January, 2010 I've never heard of any of these bands, does that make me old, a bit stu romsey or something else?? That's cos most of them don't actually exist, they're just made up. You can play too. Write some random words on bits of paper and then fold them up and put them in a hat. Pick 'em out and bingo - a ready made new band and 1st album title. Hours of fun for all the family.
RonManager Posted 22 January, 2010 Posted 22 January, 2010 Otis and the Elevators. Baby I've had my ups and downs.

Lets B Avenue Posted 23 January, 2010 Posted 23 January, 2010 Just back from the Brook. 1st time I'd seen tribute bands Smithys and Re-Order. Both excellent and so the vinyl copy of Technique is annoying the neighbours.
