What are you listening to?

I bought it today, though I don't like her version of You Got The Love. I can't be cool all the time, it's too much like hard work.

Taxi for Deppo........

;)

PS. I agree about her version of 'You Got the Love'.

Fortunately I have Candi Staton's original version (1986) on Streetwave 12" (£20 - £60 on discogs.com) so I never have to listen to Florence's version.

I got this for the wife after we watched Jools' hootenanny.

I hate myself now, and have been scrubbing my body with a wire brush and dettol........

Seems we're quite a little Radio 7 bunch. I listened to the first episode of The Further Adventures of Doctor Syn, on the Listen Again facility, and I liked it so much, I recorded all the episodes. This week they've started six more adventures. Wish I'd heard the original set a few weeks back.

It's all read extremely well by Rufus Sewell. Superb voice.

I did hear these. You are right, they are excellent. A few weeksago I also listened to the re-runs of the "Paul Temple" series. I just about remember these from when I was a nipper. Boy have they dated!!

Listening to Radio 7, it quite staggering how attitudes have changed in a PC way over the years. Listening to some of the "Han****s" and even "The Goons" from the 50`s made me realise that they wouldn`t get away with certain things nowadays!

Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds - Dig!!! Lazarus Dig!!!

Its been on constant loop all day so far, forgot how much I adore this album.

Good call. Mind you, I love just about everything Cave has put out since the late 80s, without exception. The man is a god that walks among us.

Watched the BBC4 Session they did I think last year (or even 08) which I had save onto my Sky+, the other night. Most of the songs were from Lazarus, just top, top class and a raucous performance - particularly from Jim Sclavunos's epic beard.

cheers, may have to invest.

For £15 the 7 DVD set is a steal.

There were a shed load of CDs released to link in - A "soundtrack" from each film, a boxset called "The Blues: A Musical Journey" and a host of compilations from major blues and blues influenced artists. All a worth a punt if you find them cheap. A lot are not out of print and the boxset is on Amazaon for a pretty penny, about £100 IIRC. Drop me a PM if you cant find them and I can 'help you out'...
