RedAndWhite91 Posted 25 October, 2009 Posted 25 October, 2009 Stiff Little Fingers. They are playing Wednesday night at the Brook. Anyone going? Saw them last year, really good.
Seany S Posted 26 October, 2009 Posted 26 October, 2009 El-P Mike Douglas Company Flow - End To End Burners Truth Hurts - Addictive
Lets B Avenue Posted 26 October, 2009 Posted 26 October, 2009 Colourbox - The Official Colourbox World Cup Theme Their one and only album from 1985 was a gem. Don't think they ever played live as the vocalist, Lorita Grahame, couldn' t handle it. After "Pump up the Volume" they folded as a result of all the writs and legal costs that record got them.
Julian H. Cope Posted 26 October, 2009 Author Posted 26 October, 2009 I am currently listening to Sub Focus.
oxfordshire_saint Posted 26 October, 2009 Posted 26 October, 2009 Mr Hudson - Straight no Chaser Brilliant album, his first (with the Library) was one of the most underrated albums of 2007, really suprised it's taken a connection with Kanye West for him to go into the focus of the general music buying public.

Rattlehead Posted 27 October, 2009 Posted 27 October, 2009 Rancid - ...And Out Come The Wolves Good album. Jerry Cantrell - Degradation Day Vols 1 and 2
Pancake Posted 27 October, 2009 Posted 27 October, 2009 Good album. Ah, so you ARE aware of the bass playing of Matt Freeman then! (see the guitar discussion the other day)
Rattlehead Posted 27 October, 2009 Posted 27 October, 2009 Indeed, but I didn't know his name until after I checked wikipedia... Pretty easy bass I reckon. Maybe even easier than McKagen.
Pancake Posted 27 October, 2009 Posted 27 October, 2009 Indeed, but I didn't know his name until after I checked wikipedia... Pretty easy bass I reckon. Maybe even easier than McKagen. Even the bit in Maxwell Murder...?

saint francis Posted 2 November, 2009 Posted 2 November, 2009 (edited) Melvins - Nude with slippers, cheap lager, cheese and biscuits in a nice comfy chair. Edited 2 November, 2009 by saint francis
Pancake Posted 4 November, 2009 Posted 4 November, 2009 Them Crooked Vuktures - Mind Eraser, No Chaser (Tis OK, basically "late era" QOTSA with a touch of "debut album era" Foos) Steve Conte & The Crazy Truth - Eponymous (very good stuff, Steve is the guitar player in the New York Dolls. Good bluesy rock album)
Pancake Posted 4 November, 2009 Posted 4 November, 2009 The Prodigy - Invaders Must Die. Just going though my 2009 purchases and downloads to make some informed decisions.
Ludwig Posted 4 November, 2009 Posted 4 November, 2009 Los Campesinos! - We Are Beautiful, We Are Doomed
Deppo Posted 4 November, 2009 Posted 4 November, 2009 The Prodigy - Invaders Must Die. Just going though my 2009 purchases and downloads to make some informed decisions. Not really cool to admit to any more, but I like it. It's a good one for joyriding to.
SuperMikey Posted 4 November, 2009 Posted 4 November, 2009 Biffy Clyro - Only Revolutions *jizzes in pants* Not the same as the earlier albums, certainly more Puzzle than Blackened Sky, but I love it all the same. You can definitely hear some Marmaduke Duke creeping in to some of the songs too, notably 'Born On A Horse' and 'Know Your Quarry'. Some 'fans' are already *****ing that they've gone too mainstream and gotten worse over the last few years, but I don't see that. They are still a fantastic band imo. Anyone go and see them at Guildhall last month?
