scott_saints Posted 13 October, 2009 Posted 13 October, 2009 Editors- In this light and on this evening. First listen I was quite dissapointed but it's growing on me a bit. Doesn't touch the first album though...
jeff leopard Posted 14 October, 2009 Posted 14 October, 2009 after seeing spiritualized doing 'ladies and gantelmen…' in full the other night, I though I'd give 'let it come down' another go. I didn't like it when it came out, probably due to the crushing weight of expectation, and compared to l&g it just seemed a bit predictable and flat. A couple of months ago I heard it at a friends house and it sounded good and today I got it out, dusted it off and gave it a play. And its brilliant and I was a fool. for you shoe-gazey types, have some classic rapido
jeff leopard Posted 16 October, 2009 Posted 16 October, 2009 Flaming Lips - Embryonic its a long rambling druggy mess but they wear it very well. they've gone back to their early 90s roots and produced one of their best albums since 'hit to death...'. whowoodathunkit?
Pancake Posted 16 October, 2009 Posted 16 October, 2009 Just got Scott Sorry & The Sinatras - Highball Roller. Its the Yo Yos with more anger. Sweet. Its actually odd how much Scott sounds like Danny McCormack on some of the tracks.

Bentley Posted 19 October, 2009 Posted 19 October, 2009 "Down down baby, down by the rollercoaster..." Loving the Drums at the moment. I love them as well, saw them at a gig recently, then saw the single was a free download at I-Tunes. I bought the whole EP, well worth 5 pounds. I like their Beach Boys style harmonies which have obviously been mixed and shaped in with todays music.
Pancake Posted 19 October, 2009 Posted 19 October, 2009 A whole host of Stones stuff. Exile, Sticky, Bleed and Goats Head at the mo.
Ponty Posted 19 October, 2009 Posted 19 October, 2009 A bit of Black Spiders. **** you and this one horse town!

Ewell Posted 20 October, 2009 Posted 20 October, 2009 "Down down baby, down by the rollercoaster..." Loving the Drums at the moment. The Drums are awesome. Really looking forward to the album. Personally I cannot stop playing The XX at the moment. Cracking album, so simple and two voices that complement each other perfectly. Album of the year for me!
