Rattlehead Posted 31 July, 2009 Posted 31 July, 2009 Some chap called William DuVall. Don't know where he came from. I was inclined to agree re Layne but apparently they are superb with DuVall and their new album, due out in a few months, is allegedly brilliant. AIC was always about Cantrell anyway. Jury's out for me, obviously, but I still can't wait to see them.
Block 5 Posted 31 July, 2009 Posted 31 July, 2009 Caravan - "If I Could Do It All Over Again I'd Do It All Over You".
Rattlehead Posted 2 August, 2009 Posted 2 August, 2009 Soundgarden - 4th of July and then Nirvana - Lithium. Ace.
SuperMikey Posted 2 August, 2009 Posted 2 August, 2009 New Arctic Monkeys album 'Humbug' leaked today onto the internet - I suggest downloading it quickly before it disappears! On first listen it's quite good, I shall report back properly after a good listen through.

Pancake Posted 4 August, 2009 Posted 4 August, 2009 The new Wildhearts single, "The Only One". Its, er, different for them. Scott wrote it and sings it, no Ginger. Sounds like something off the Dawson's Creak soundtrack, Goo Goo Dolls circa 1998. Almost Avril Lavigne-esque.
Pancake Posted 5 August, 2009 Posted 5 August, 2009 A **** load of old Soul Asylum stuff from the mid 80s. Sweet.
RedAndWhite91 Posted 5 August, 2009 Posted 5 August, 2009 C ockney Rejects - Greatest Hits Volume One. Vinyl LP from 1980, got it off eBay and it's well good. Also, a well good title for a debut album.

DuVall was great as well. 3 new songs, all of which sounded good to me - I will definitely be getting the new album in September and seeing them next time round.

Rattlehead Posted 7 August, 2009 Posted 7 August, 2009 Lightning Dust-Infinite Light Pink Mountaintops-Outside Love Bit passé in my view.

Ludwig Posted 10 August, 2009 Posted 10 August, 2009 Beethoven's 9th symphony. Classical music is better than I'd ever imagined.
Block 5 Posted 10 August, 2009 Posted 10 August, 2009 Nancy Elizabeth - "Battle and Victory" Great northern singer / songwriter with a voice that is reminiscent of Shirley Collins.
Pancake Posted 11 August, 2009 Posted 11 August, 2009 Herbert von Karajan & The Berliner Philharmoniker - Mozart Symphonies 35,36,38,39,40 & 41.
scott_saints Posted 12 August, 2009 Posted 12 August, 2009 Shed 7- Going for gold. Some awesome tracks, some cr@p tracks.
scott_saints Posted 12 August, 2009 Posted 12 August, 2009 Shed 7 are still massive in Manchester. Really? They're from York so that would surprise me..... Their top tunes are f00king good though! Loving "Chasing Rainbows"

scott_saints Posted 12 August, 2009 Posted 12 August, 2009 Shed 7- Going for gold. Some awesome tracks, some cr@p tracks. Just thought I'd add- If anyone has a spare moment, listen to the shed's first hit "Mark"....... It's quite funny how much they're trying to sound like The Smiths.
Um Bongo Posted 12 August, 2009 Posted 12 August, 2009 Redd Square - Digital Acoustics (Onova Mix) Cracking piece of trance music. Builds up for 3 minutes then releases a quality tune. Makes me wish I was back on holiday.
Block 5 Posted 13 August, 2009 Posted 13 August, 2009 Portishead - "Dummy". I'd forgotten just how good Portishead were.
Robsk II Posted 14 August, 2009 Posted 14 August, 2009 Last four songs: Add N to X - Metal fingers in my body Spandau ballet - To cut a long story short Belle & Sebastian - String Bean Jean Pulp - Acrylic afternoons
Rory Posted 14 August, 2009 Posted 14 August, 2009 Really? They're from York so that would surprise me..... Their top tunes are f00king good though! Loving "Chasing Rainbows" I say that because I was in Manchester recently and their gig at the Academy sold out in minutes so they had to add an extra night. It suprises me because they are/were really sh*te.
