sperm_john Posted 8 May, 2009 Share Posted 8 May, 2009 if you like music like MGMT, listen to a band called Empire of the sun, they are getting some air time on radio 1 and NME have tipped them by saying 'the world is there's to be conquered' .. check out 'we are the people' by empire of the sun on you tube! Wiltshire Saint Posted 13 May, 2009 Share Posted 13 May, 2009 Guillemots "Through the Windowpane" Super Furry Animals "Dark Days/Light years" Neil Young "After the Goldrush" Went to see Spiritualized on Friday and was pleased with them. Slightly low key performance but moments of real majesty. Was slightly disturbed to learn that I had seen them before around 1997 when they played Brixton Academy with Primal Scream and some other band on Valentines Day. I remember Primal Scream being there but no one else. They were bad times.

Seany S Posted 14 May, 2009 Share Posted 14 May, 2009 Presently I am listening to the new Horrors record, "Primary Colours". It is astonishing, sounds like the second coming of My Bloody Valentine as played by the Psychadelic Furs. Also rocking some Lil Wayne, the Drought and Dedication mixtapes, Pharrell Williams & DJ Drama "Out of My Mind" mix, and the OST to the Kids In The Hall "Brain Candy" movie. Ponty Posted 17 May, 2009 Share Posted 17 May, 2009 Well the GD album was craaaaaaaaaaaaaap. I've listened through it about 3 or 4 times today and it's very much American Idiot 2, which although to be expected, is still a disappointment. Pretty forgettable stuff, although not really worthy of the 14 "a"s you gave it - it was OK. I do like track 14, something about horseshoes and handgrenades, it puts me in mind of The Hives and Terrorvision.

Seany S Posted 18 May, 2009 Share Posted 18 May, 2009 Listening to the debut Suicide album, which remains one of the most disturbing things I have ever heard, but I still keep going back to it time and again. Also rocking out with some Mastodon (a mix of tunes from Crack The Skye and Leviathan), and after my lunch will be listening to "Put It On The Line" by Ghostface & Trife, and the first DJ Muggs Soul Assassins record. Great times as I prepare to tuck into to a tin of Heinz Spaghetti Hoops.
