Pancake Posted 14 April, 2009 Posted 14 April, 2009 In a state of flux with moving stuff around at home so Im stuck with only a handful of CDs at the disposal. Pearl Jam - Rearviewmirror.
St Landrew Posted 14 April, 2009 Posted 14 April, 2009 Had a little Joe Jackson bop earlier, with the albums, Night & Day and Body & Soul. Good stuff, but JJ's frantic delivery had to be counterbalanced afterwards by Have You Ever Been [To Electric Ladyland], by Jimi, to bring back my karma.
St Landrew Posted 14 April, 2009 Posted 14 April, 2009 Oops, having a little Jimi moment with Ezy Rider. This might turn into quite a session.
St Landrew Posted 14 April, 2009 Posted 14 April, 2009 Well that dried up quite quickly, and so I'm listening to The Only Living Boy In New York which can only be followed by So Long Frank LLoyd Wright. Then who knows. It's a day of waiting for phone calls to come back, and then I have to respond pronto, so a lot of listening is going to happen today. Perhaps it's time for bash on the Epiphone.
Scudamore Posted 14 April, 2009 Posted 14 April, 2009 Had a little Joe Jackson bop earlier http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joe_Jackson_(musician) Born in Staffordshire' date=' David Jackson (as he was then known) grew up in Gosport and Portsmouth.[/quote'] Lucky Joe Jackson...

SuperMikey Posted 15 April, 2009 Posted 15 April, 2009 Master Shortie - Dance Like A White Boy. One thinks this is a 'bangin choon'.
Redbul Posted 15 April, 2009 Posted 15 April, 2009 I was going back a few years today at work and was giving 18 Wheeler (Year Zero) a bit of dust off which led (through the Dave Keenan link) to the Telstar Ponies; In the Space of Few Minutes getting an airing. Haven't listened to these for years.
Pancake Posted 16 April, 2009 Posted 16 April, 2009 Therapy? - Nurse. Lost my copy years ago at Uni (well it was pinched), thank god for Spotify.

St Landrew Posted 18 April, 2009 Posted 18 April, 2009 Got in and the late evening started off brightly with the album Rattus Norvegicus. What a great return. It was a split decision between that and No More Heroes, and it won. Joe Jackson got another look in with the whole of I'm The Man. Then goodness knows why, I went onto Donovan with tracks like Catch The Wind and Jersey Thursday. Perhaps it's because I've been thinking of the the ex-missus of late, as she's been quite ill in NZ, and it'll be a long time until I see her again. Of course XTC made an appearance. It would be criminal if something penned by Andy Partridge or Colin Moulding didn't do something for my soul, so Yacht Dance went on. If someone said, write the perfect lilting sailing song, this would be it. How AP gets the precise rhythm of a bobbing boat into music I'll never know. And now I've finished with music, and am listening to a radio drama version of Mutiny On The Bounty with the late Oliver Reed as Captain Bligh. It stays very, very close to the novel written by Charles Nordoff and James Norman Hall, which is all the complete public account there is. Great stuff too. Love sea adventures, and this one is as adventurous as they get.
St Landrew Posted 18 April, 2009 Posted 18 April, 2009 Go to bed, man! In time young Deppo. At the moment, in my imagination amidst the South Seas, I'm thinking of a mixCD to take with me on my very first trip on my VFR in a couple of weeks time. Goodnight.
manji Posted 18 April, 2009 Posted 18 April, 2009 Not going to Talking Heads tonight too are you? Unfortunately I couldnt but a report from you would be good.

Redbul Posted 19 April, 2009 Posted 19 April, 2009 Finishing off the day with Soulbossa: Come Into Soulbossa.
Guest Dark Sotonic Mills Posted 20 April, 2009 Posted 20 April, 2009 I'm listening to "The Sound of Wailing and Gnashing Teeth". A compilation CD of TSF members, season 2008/9.
