KelvinsRightGlove Posted 7 November, 2014 Posted 7 November, 2014 Yeah you're not wrong my feline friend. It's effing epic.
lifeintheslowlane Posted 11 November, 2014 Posted 11 November, 2014 Beauty transends genres. Not moved by this?...especially today, check for a pulse. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aqvOVGCt5lw
T.REX Posted 11 November, 2014 Posted 11 November, 2014 Steve Gunn - Way Out Weather, picked up the vinyl the other day alongside Hiss Golden Messenger "Lateness of Dancers" (also highly recommend). Beautiful songs and sounds and makes me feel like a truly inadequate guitarist.
SuperMikey Posted 15 November, 2014 Posted 15 November, 2014 http://youtu.be/Qi99oDALtRU Not sure if I posted this before but this makes 11 year old me incredibly happy.

The Cat Posted 26 November, 2014 Posted 26 November, 2014 Fuzzy Australian garage pop which sounds like it was made 45 years ago. Yes please.
pap Posted 28 November, 2014 Posted 28 November, 2014 I'm not actually listening to this per se, but the music vid features free running around Southampton. Courtesy of the Echo.

KelvinsRightGlove Posted 4 December, 2014 Posted 4 December, 2014 (edited) [soundcloud] [/soundcloud] Like this band a lot. Saw them support Cloud Nothings earlier this year and made a proper racket. They also have a member of Hookworms, who are great too. Edited 4 December, 2014 by KelvinsRightGlove
The Cat Posted 4 December, 2014 Posted 4 December, 2014 The 3 hour Chris Morris documentary. Genius. http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b04sp5pq
SuperMikey Posted 8 December, 2014 Posted 8 December, 2014 New Wu-Tang album. Still the best in the game by a distance.
lifeintheslowlane Posted 9 December, 2014 Posted 9 December, 2014 For those of a certain vintage... and for the others this is what you missed. [video=youtube;0yq-Fw7C26Y]

lifeintheslowlane Posted 9 December, 2014 Posted 9 December, 2014 One of my fave Mac tracks. HAIM do a decent cover of it live too. Good choice They all do it...another good cover is by Eels.
CHAPEL END CHARLIE Posted 17 December, 2014 Posted 17 December, 2014 Whenever I listen to this I wonder why anyone would ever want to listen to anything else. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AcXXkcZ2jWM
TheCholulaKid Posted 18 December, 2014 Posted 18 December, 2014 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oaa3pxWqDEQ ****ing loved that album.
Hamilton Saint Posted 19 December, 2014 Posted 19 December, 2014 Bruce Cockburn: "Call it Democracy".
manji Posted 30 December, 2014 Posted 30 December, 2014 Strand Of Oaks-Heal ( touch of War On Drugs, Ryan Adams) Death Blues-Ensemble ( a Swans vibe about it )
lifeintheslowlane Posted 4 January, 2015 Posted 4 January, 2015 For Hippies of all ages...everywhere. Don't switch off before it gets to the guitar solo...very nostalgic for me.
KelvinsRightGlove Posted 5 January, 2015 Posted 5 January, 2015 This just came on 6music. How do I always forget how much I love Pixies?
The Cat Posted 5 January, 2015 Posted 5 January, 2015 This just came on 6music. How do I always forget how much I love Pixies? They only ever play 2 Pixies songs. That and Debaser. It's a scandal I tell ya.
lifeintheslowlane Posted 5 January, 2015 Posted 5 January, 2015 They only ever play 2 Pixies songs. That and Debaser. It's a scandal I tell ya. Be grateful for that...any idea what two tracks they play on Radio 2.
KelvinsRightGlove Posted 5 January, 2015 Posted 5 January, 2015 They only ever play 2 Pixies songs. That and Debaser. It's a scandal I tell ya. They definitely pull out Here Comes Your Man on occasion too. Usually gets me bopping away at my desk, much to the amusement of those around me.
The Cat Posted 5 January, 2015 Posted 5 January, 2015 Be grateful for that...any idea what two tracks they play on Radio 2. Thankfully I haven't listened to Radio 2 since having a job where it was always on in the office. I do though have a soft spot for Ken Bruce and his continual efforts to find a Popmaster contestant who knows the answer to a question about the New Seekers.
The Cat Posted 5 January, 2015 Posted 5 January, 2015 They definitely pull out Here Comes Your Man on occasion too. Usually gets me bopping away at my desk, much to the amusement of those around me. Damn. Forgot that one. It's kind of my main issue with daytime 6Music. Bung in the odd album track, no one will mind and lots will enjoy it.

Bung in the odd album track, no one will mind and lots will enjoy it. I only really listen to Lauren's show to be fair so don't get it too bad. I've probably said it before, but I really just want to be her mate. For me she plays a good mix of stuff I like/know (a good variety too, not many shows will play The Ronettes & Mastodon in the same hour) and new stuff I havn't heard. Other than that I tune in for some guest shows like the John Cooper Clarke ones. Edited 6 January, 2015 by KelvinsRightGlove

I'm usually too busy in the morning (retired folk ya know) but do usually catch a bit of Lauren's show and then on into Radcliffe & Maconie until 2.30 when the dog bothers me for a walk in the country...hard life.
sussexsaint Posted 6 January, 2015 Posted 6 January, 2015 Listening to fields of the Nephilim - Elizium yesterday - just popped up on random. Instantly transported to 6th form and standing in the Milton with my mates, fantastic how music can do that

Sounds glorious. Though not sure about the country, I'm a city boy. Go bonkers in the country. Though, that may change with time.

Pancake Posted 6 January, 2015 Posted 6 January, 2015 Charles Mingus - The Black Saint & The Sinner Lady
TheCholulaKid Posted 7 January, 2015 Posted 7 January, 2015 The War On Drugs - Lost In the Dream Still persevering with this. Can't decide if it's 80s MOR rubbish or not. Just a touch of the Chris Rea about it....

Just a touch of the Chris Rea about it.... Just to qualify that...I do like it...I just feel a bit uncomfortable about it. I see they're playing at the Guildhall - actually a band whose sound might benefit from the murky acoustics. Think I might get along to it.

I'm going to the Guildhall gig.
