andymcrowe Posted 8 August, 2011 Posted 8 August, 2011 Funniest comment on the Leeds Forum is 'Highlight for me on saturday was the dodgy Kisnorbo challenge in the first ten mins, followed by thick Southhampton fans singing 'Dirty Northern bas*ard'! Haha, he's from Melbourne guys, that's about as far south in Australia as you can be! If he was any more southern he'd be a penguin!
sambosa75 Posted 8 August, 2011 Posted 8 August, 2011 They rated their fans performance as 11? I was in Block 42 and never even heard them.

Love the confidence on Page 1 as well.
gaz Posted 8 August, 2011 Posted 8 August, 2011 ''Have to say, though... Southampton looked a class outfit... Richardson/Fonte/Martin/Harding looked solid... they won everything in the air, and their midfield passing was superb... Wouldnt suprise me if the Saints do a Norwich if they play like that all year.. .''
Durleyfos Posted 8 August, 2011 Posted 8 August, 2011 They rated their fans performance as 11? I was in Block 42 and never even heard them. They sounded noisy from Block 5.
SuperMikey Posted 8 August, 2011 Posted 8 August, 2011 They rated their fans performance as 11? I was in Block 42 and never even heard them. They were good for a bit, but when they went 3-0 down they quietened down a lot! They only had 1 song though, which they sang for about 15 straight minutes. Drove me f*cking mad.
Jack Posted 8 August, 2011 Posted 8 August, 2011 Think it's quite normal at SMS for our lot in the Northam to not hear the away fans and vice versa. People sat in the chapel and adjacent stands would be able to gauge the noise coming from each set of fans a lot better

I was in the Northam and I could actually hear the opposing fans for once, though they did mostly sing "Marching On Together" endlessly.
Rasiak-9- Posted 8 August, 2011 Posted 8 August, 2011 mehhhh. disagree... I thought their fans were pretty decent to be fair - although I'm in block 5
shurlock Posted 8 August, 2011 Posted 8 August, 2011 Am in Block 4 - and Leeds were good value. The Northam gave virtually nothing - has seemed like that for a few months now.
Toadhall Saint Posted 8 August, 2011 Posted 8 August, 2011 Am in Block 4 - and Leeds were good value. The Northam gave virtually nothing - has seemed like that for a few months now. This (mind you no one has been in the Northam for the last few months)
Huffton Posted 8 August, 2011 Posted 8 August, 2011 From the Chapel they didn't make a lot of noise until about half an hour in when they started chanting 'we all love leeds' incessantly. For some reason after a few minutes of this the Northam joined in with we all hate leeds. Why??? But then the whole ground suddenly erupted with a chorus of OWTS, which shut the northern monkeys up pretty much until they got the pen.
Mr Dad Posted 8 August, 2011 Posted 8 August, 2011 When I left the stadium, there was a large group of SAINTS fans singing 'We all love leeds'. That made me laugh. If they play like that next time, I love them too!
Crab Lungs Posted 8 August, 2011 Posted 8 August, 2011 Had a look on Saturday and Sunday, they were totally oblivious to how good we were... they just moaned at how bad they were.

There was one weird match report this weekend which claimed the Leeds fans were ironically singing "we all hate Leeds". What a load of balls, and completely illogical with it. They were singing "we all love Leeds", we were singing "we all hate Leeds" with the optional "scum" for those utterly lacking in self-awareness.
The9 Posted 8 August, 2011 Posted 8 August, 2011 Had a look on Saturday and Sunday, they were totally oblivious to how good we were... they just moaned at how bad they were. I thought we were decent and finished better, they only went crap after our 3rd, but other than that there wasn't really much in it. We'll play worse and win, they'll play worse and win, we'll both play better and lose, that's the Championship.
sammysaint Posted 8 August, 2011 Posted 8 August, 2011 There fans were good for periods that 15mins of we love leeds wound me up but they have to face it they were outplayed by a much better team.
S-Clarke Posted 8 August, 2011 Posted 8 August, 2011 Had a look on Saturday and Sunday, they were totally oblivious to how good we were... they just moaned at how bad they were. I think a few fair of them have started to acknowledge that we were very good, and it's nice to see the media appreciating this as well. They weren't great, but we were a couple of gears above them.

The9 Posted 8 August, 2011 Posted 8 August, 2011 I laughed at this bit : Brown 4 Neutralised himself with silly needless fouls and dissent early on. Southampton's falling over tactics and a ref who could only see backing in at one end of the pitch didn't help but Brown played right into their hands I should think Southampton's falling over tactics might possibly have been aided by the Leeds players hanging off them and kicking them every chance they got. Brown was lucky to be still on the pitch after 10 minutes, never mind "played right into their hands"...

Barry the Badger Posted 8 August, 2011 Posted 8 August, 2011 Am in Block 4 - and Leeds were good value. The Northam gave virtually nothing - has seemed like that for a few months now. Really? I find stuff like this really odd. I'm not doubting what you say but being in the Northam the atmosphere was f***ing brilliant.

Not kidding - that's just the impression I got being in a different part of the ground (FWIW, upper block 4 where my ST is seems deathly quiet whenever I sit elsewhere for cup games). I do maintain, though, the Northam seems more subdued than it used to be.

Nah they were singing 'Red and white' over and over at 100 miles per hour!!
keithd Posted 8 August, 2011 Posted 8 August, 2011 I was in the corner of northam, more towards the end of the main stand and thought we sang really well, sat there with a leeds mate who was very impressed with the noise we made. i too thought Leeds werent too bad but lets be honest they had feck all to sing about all they care about now is getting Bates out. the hate for that man is impressive!

When we do that it makes it sound like the away fans are singing louder than they are even if we have changed the words a bit..at the last skates game a mate watching on the tv said to me after "weren't they loud?" I said it was the home fans joining in with the f off bit but he said it couldn't be made out properly and it just made them sound louder. IMO opinion if we try to drown out an opposing set of fans it should be with OWTS sung over and over until they shut up!
