Despite the stated 5 year plan I think that NC & NA believe that with a couple of additions this squad is good enough for a top six finish this season. Given that, should we change a winning team and play the other squad against Torquay? I would like to see Bart, Butterfield, Seaborne, Jaidi, Chaplow, Barnard, Forte and Holmes all given a place in the squad and protect the “main men” for the important stuff.

Not a bad shout, doubt Barnard will be fit enough to start, I would think Rickie will play.

Not interested in the League Cup. Also keeping y feet well and truely on the floor. Yes we were pretty brilliant yesterday, but this is the confidence that comes in a new season after promotion, but will be interesting to see what happens after a sticky patch. We know we will not play like that all season. Mid table I would be happy with and push on for promotion next. Of course if we can keep it going I would only be to happy.

on a slightly related topic, anyone know the amount of tickets sold for this? I couldn't go to Leeds so this'll be my first game of the season!

Don't worry having been going to Saints games for 50 years these feet are firmly planted !

I just think that this is the fittest, most together and talented squad I have seen here for a long time and with owner/management stability should be able to mount a serious challenge. That's not to say I woudn't be happy with mid table consolidation just think we are capable of more

I expect he'll give Bart a go and de Ridder and start. Probably make a few other changes as well, but I don't think Adkins will field the youth team. He always bangs on about the 'winning mentality' and how we must win every game.

I agree with Benji regarding Martin, I'd keep him in.

Suspect all five subs from yesterday will start on Tuesday, as will Dickson, Seaborne and Barnard if fit.

Doble may be involved, but suspect Lambert may start.

Agree with most of the suggested teams so far. Think doble may get a run out too though. Torquay will be a tough game though so it will still be a good test for who ever gets the nod.

 

I also think we are one of around 10 teams that are aiming for top 6. The teams that are there or there abouts around Xmas will be the ones that start aiming for the automatic slots with the mid table teams making a push for play-offs. The way Sven has spent I would say they are the only team that will be seriously aiming for automatic from the off. Still think they are in the hat with about 4 other teams that could take those spots though so Sven could be on dodgy ground come the end of the season.

 

If we can perform like yesterday throughout the season top 6 is well within our reach. Not sure we can keep up the momentum so won't be too miffed if we miss out this year.

I'd like to see Jack Stephens given a game.

 

Hmmm - only seen him play once at Kettering and there were a couple of the U21s that I'd put in the queue ahead of him....actually 3 if you include Mills (Isgrove & Racine being the others) but as I said...only going by the one game.

With League games on Saturday and Tuesday, I would for sure like to see a predominantly second string team. With the exception of De Ridder. He needs to get some more bedding in. and Martin needs more play.

defo dont want to see the likes of lallana and fonte, its crucial that these kind of players are fit for league games. Martin and de Ridder both need game time.

Can't see Jaidi, Barnard or Oxo being risked considering they were injured for yesterday. Would not be surprised to see Spiderman and Chaplow in MF, and Bart in goal. Doubt DC will be risked either, but otherwise would keep similar team.

Im surprised at how much I'm looking forward to this game. I know its a bit of an irrelevance, but will be great to see the 2nd team out and see what they can do. Also im away for a couple of weeks shortly after so will miss a few games.
