Saint-Armstrong Posted 6 August, 2011 Posted 6 August, 2011 A first day win, 3-1, and Adam Lallana and David Connolly trending on Twitter, Lallana even Worldwide. Sit up and take notice of Saints, play like that and we will certainly be in the mix. Thoughts?

alpine_saint Posted 6 August, 2011 Posted 6 August, 2011 I'm thinking that we aint going to keep hold of Lallana much longer...
Guest Dark Sotonic Mills Posted 6 August, 2011 Posted 6 August, 2011 Brilliant, Alps, just brilliant. Do you scourge yourself with studded ropes before bed as well? --- I am here: http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=50.902287,-1.401549
STEVEADAMS Posted 6 August, 2011 Posted 6 August, 2011 Great result, hate hearing about these pathetic records we haven't broken for years. Another one down. Get in there.
SaintBobby Posted 6 August, 2011 Posted 6 August, 2011 I'm thinking that we aint going to keep hold of Lallana much longer... welcome back.. sighhhhhh....
Cascadia Saint Posted 6 August, 2011 Posted 6 August, 2011 I'm thinking that we aint going to keep hold of Lallana much longer... Whilst beating off furiously looking at the relegation zone, no doubt.
dune Posted 6 August, 2011 Posted 6 August, 2011 I guess this means it'll be 2023 before we win our next opening game.
Saint Without a Halo Posted 6 August, 2011 Posted 6 August, 2011 (edited) I'm thinking that we aint going to keep hold of Lallana much longer... Alps you remind me of Fraser in Dad's army! him of the "were doomed, doomed I say" fame. Enjoy the win, the first on opening day at home since 1988 and winning live on TV as well as a club record seventh league win in a row, cant be bad. By the way lallana has more than three years to go on his contract so likely to be around for a while. I assume that was your way of praising Adam by intimating he is to good for us? Nexstar Posted 6 August, 2011 Posted 6 August, 2011 I'm thinking that we aint going to keep hold of Lallana much longer... Based on how we sold Chamberlain at the first opportunity? Or that Lallana has 4 years on his contract left to run?
Chez Posted 7 August, 2011 Posted 7 August, 2011 I'm thinking that we aint going to keep hold of Lallana much longer... are our play off chances now hanging by a thread?
alpine_saint Posted 7 August, 2011 Posted 7 August, 2011 Mewl and puke as much as you all like; bottom line is if he keeps delivering towering performances of the standard he delivered yesterday, some lazy arrogant c**t like Wenger will come in for him.
alpine_saint Posted 7 August, 2011 Posted 7 August, 2011 Maybe, but you see why finding a negative on our first home opening day win in 400 years might not reduce your slightly negative reputation? TBF, Lallana was so good in L1, good in cup games against higher opposition, and good last time in the Championship, that I'd be surprised if big clubs weren't already highly aware of his talent. He's more likely than most to stay long term I think. He loves it here, I was surprised he stayed in L1. We may have to go up to keep him. Guess we'd have an outside chance of keeping him next season too, but he'd need his top flight chance by then, and deserve it. He's more than ready for it now. Although a different type of player, he's as talented or more than the likes of Adam Johnson and James Milner, IMO, and they went for huge fees and got England caps. I still hope to see him play for Saints in the top flight though. If he does, he'll be become one of our all time legends. I agree wholeheartedly, just having trouble imagining it playing out like that...
The Kraken Posted 7 August, 2011 Posted 7 August, 2011 I agree wholeheartedly, just having trouble imagining it playing out like that... Don't see why, to be honest. He needs to prove himself at this level before Prem teams will come calling IMO; at least with the type of cash offer that we'd take to let him go. And I just can't see him leaving us for another Championship team unless we're struggling in the division, which I don't think we will. Transfer window slams shut at the end of the month too. If we're challenging at or around the playoffs I do believe he'll give us at least one season, maybe more.
dronskisaint Posted 7 August, 2011 Posted 7 August, 2011 I agree wholeheartedly, just having trouble imagining it playing out like that... ...or the sun ever shining again, waking up in the morning...how can you live with the negativity? You asked once why I was so unpleasant re my comments about your negativity...you have single-handedly managed to preach doom and gloom since before kick-off yesterday...moaned about predictability in not having signed everyone that we could have. I guarantee you not one team in the leagues has....we produce a very encouraging performance (yes I was there and I'm not getting carried away) and still the best you can manage is misery and negatives. I'm happy to deal in reality - negativity is not reality, misery should be reserved for the occasions that demand it. Please - get a f*cking life! Thank you
LostBoys Posted 7 August, 2011 Posted 7 August, 2011 are our play off chances now hanging by a thread? I wish Alpine was hanging by a thread - I will leave it to a vote regarding which part of his anatomy the rope is attached to. Oh sorry I forgot I have had him on ignore for two years. Still we need a miserable sod to keep our feet on the ground and there are enough on this site.
Dr Who? Posted 7 August, 2011 Posted 7 August, 2011 I guess this means it'll be 2023 before we win our next opening game. Right ticket purchased for this one!! WOOHOO!!
