Are u blind to cortese??

Are we overlooking all of his mistakes because we are at this moment doing well?? I was very much against lowe and have really been thinking cortese is brilliant up to very recently but a line has to be drawn somewhere.

Dubious things are:

pardew debacle-although adkins looks much better.

Banning echo

no pictures other than own guy.

Not attending 125 years event-poor.

Parking charge!

Season tickets going up steeply.

Players not agreeing terms allegedly.

Not a lot of money spent this summer.

Putting himself on programme.

I think as things are going very well we are tolerating it. However, if they weren't I reckon we wouldn't be happy or maybe we are tired if years battling lowe and haven't got the puff. Opinions? What price success?

jeez...when do the schools go back? Ffs enjoy what we have you sad, small minded tw*t! I don't often resort to pure abuse but on occasion it is the only fitting response..this is one of them.

Very funny, you goon. Only just got round to replying as not all of us spend our lives on here, there is a thing called the outside world. I doubt your familiar with it.

Supporters are people that have a passion for something some like my self will travel the length of the country to support their team.

As a customer of Tescos for example is very different. I want something, I go to the shop I get it and thats that. If I wasnt happy with the service and my Tescos experience would I go again, no I wouldnt Id go somewhere else like Sainsburys or Asda. If saints lost and I didnt enjoy the match would I go again, yes I would because I am a supporter and no matter how good or bad the previous saturday was I will wake up the follow saturday morning wanting to go to the game. Would I just go to a skates game or a Reading game as a customer looking for a better experience, no I would continue to follow saints as I am a supporter.

If you make the trip to Barnsley saturday I would happily take time out to explain in further detail. But I doubt any of you 3 saps will be there?

Back to Cortese what has he actually achieved that anyone else couldnt? Promotion from league 1, that was expected as a bare minimun with our resources we should have won it. O and the JPT, a trophy that only 2 leagues enter big ******* whop. Already ****ed off the national media and some of our greatest players, it will all turn sour its just only a matter of time. Watch this space.

You are wrong mate. ... and can tell you are a proper fan

Cortese is no angel and has ruffled a few feathers, but he has delivered and you can't take that away from him. There are another 91 chairmen saying the same as him, 99% of them failed to deliver. The signings, the contract extensions, the quality of the non playing hires.... this bloke is f******* serious.

As someone said on this site, he is a nutter....but he is our nutter.

Actually I think it was he is a cn\/t, but he is our cn\/t.

Should have copyrighted that along with the statement "being whelmed" at NA's appointment

Still we could always have Hone/Dullieu/Hoos back, or even Leon & his Churchillian speeches.

100% behind Cortese, however, Saints will not be in a hurry to get to the premiership. It is clear that we will build steadily over the next 3 to 4 years. Fair enough in my opinion.

If i have a criticism, it is that we should have been more decisive in the summer transfer market.

If we are going to build steadily and not in any hurry (As you confirmed you are in agreement with) Why would we have rushed into the transfer market?????????????????

You won't be at barnsley then? Muppet.

When your argument is completely screwed and under attack from all angles, change the subject. LOL.

No, I won't be at Barnsley, much as I'd like to be, but then (unlike you, uberfan) I won't be slagging off a guy that has us on a fast-track back to the Premier League.

Are you out of posts now, Dan? I'm sure your rectum hopes so because it must be getting really tired.

OK - I have done you the courtesy of doing that and I still think it's the pointless act of a bored juvenile who doesn't have great recollection or else has an immensely selective recall of the recent past and a diminutive ability to make or argue a point...that much I got from reading the whole thread.

Mostly though I think it's attention seeking drivel by the person I described in my original post.

If you weighup the good vs bad, the scales come down on the "cortese is doing a good job" side.

He's not perfect (who is) but he has vision, drive and determination and a clear idea of how he is going to do things. He is the best person that we have had at the helm for god knows how long especially when you compare him to Lowe, Wilde, Crouch, Askham.

Cortese is the right man for this club.......FACT !

Look at what he HAS done for S.F.C.

Providing the Youth set-up with fantastic facilities.

Allowing stability with the appointment of a good and sensible manager.

Backing the manager with good purchases, and not throwing silly money around.

Giving us the fans a sense of pride in our team again.....now when was the last time we had that??

Nick.

what the f*ck are you on about being obsessed with Dan's rectum in all your posts , f*cking moron , Dan probably went to more games last season then most posting on here over the last 10 years, he is more likely to be effected by some of corteses policies because they have had a direct effect on the match going fan, you can sit from a distance enjoying the signings and all is fine and dandy because it wouldn't make any difference to you what policies cortese brings in, as you won't be there to be effected by them

I think he's doing a grand job and will continue to.

Only reservations are:

-he's not engaged with the fans as well as could be, some really small concessions would have made a massive difference

-his apparent dismissal of our history

that said I'd forego them rather than the really important ones, like running a business

So, run this past me again ?

What exactly has he done that is so catastrophic ?? How is he any worse than the other 92 league chairman ?? Is it because he had his piccy on I would argue probably our best selling porgramme for a little while ??

I don't get what it is with Saints fans, even when things are going better than they have in the past 20 years we still find things to pick to pieces.

Do you really think I'm remotely bothered by the opinion of a half wit who posted this about a 17 year-old kid?

i hope he gets injured in his first game and his skate Dad gets abuse if he ever comes near st marys again.

You're either too blind or too ignorant to see that the good far outweighs the bad when it comes to Cortese.

I vote for ignorant.

Why would they inform those that "help with the website", the details of the club's transfer strategy?

Does that not ring alarm bells that it may be ********?

They will be telling the tea lady at the academy how much they are selling Fabregas for next...

I know Dot the Arsenal tealady well. She says about £32M plus add ons.

Nobody is perfect, we all make mistakes. And I agree NC has made mistakes. But he makes his in public, most of us make ours in relative anonymity. (unless we post on here, then possibly as many as 4 or 5 others will share our errors). However I don't understand what Roger Dan et al are getting at. As an old Saints fan, for the first time in a number of years not only I know things are on the up but other clubs supporters are beginning to see us not just doing well, but playing good football too. The club is making firm long term foundations on and off the pitch. This cost money. NC has stated he wants this club to be self supporting financially. So when Roger etc make statements that are either insignificant, inaccurrateor unsubstantiated I personally wonder what there motives or mental processes are.

Most, if not all of these dubious things can be viewed as positives.

The problem with this forum is that it's so polarized, we had the same thing when Lowe was around.

If you happen to say you disagree with something Cortese does you get jumped on by a gang of rabid morons, just like if you happened to agree with something Lowe did.

Things at SFC are great, Cortese is doing a great job - there is still no harm in questioning some decisions even if they are trivial. Surely that's what these things are for?

This has all the hallmarks of a disgruntled SISU "ranter against the regime" who has nothing to be disgruntled about but needs to rant against the regime anyway !!:?

It shows how shallow and idiotic the argument when the poster mentions that not a lot of money has been spent this summer! How idiotic can you get ?? We have tied the majority of our key players into long term contracts, signed an England U21 international and 2 other players who are better than what we already had - And took Arsenal to the cleaners on AOC.

We are one of the strongest outfits in the league, financially secure, well run and well managed.

We are in the best shape we have been in for a long time!

Yet this gut harks back to posey Pardew amongst others... Viva La Revolution Citizen !

Very much agree - criticism is right, even if a little trivial at times and is something that all fans are entitled to. Maybe its a legacy of the old days, but I must admit, I am perhaps just a tad suspicious of the way in which some of the criticism is so bitter at times... maybe its just a perception of hidden agenda that is awoken by my paranoia ;-)

Who knows, but there still seem a few for whom there is almost an orgasmic glee when they find something to be able to criticise NC for, same as there was for many under Lowe... maybe its a fear/hate of anything/one in power? Maybe its a few who would only be happy with teh club just owen by fans? Thats a fair enough opinion, but needs to be weighted against teh realities of what woudl eb achievable under thsoe circumstances and the answer is mid table obscurity in the lower leagues....

Yes, that is what forums are for and there's certainly "no harm in questioning some decisions" - far from it. However, you don't have to be a "rabid moron" to disagree with some of the criticisms - especially when they relate to trivia or when (in the poster's view) they're flat-out wrong.

Cortese said from the outset that the Club needed to operate in a sustainable way and, after what we've been though, most people agreed with that. He's simply following through on what he said. Yes, he has some abrasive ways but many of his so-called faults are also real attributes when it comes to protecting the Club's longer term interests.

I would suggest that he wouldn't be here - and we'd never have heard of Markus Liebherr - if things were going to just carry on as they were.

It should have been abundantly clear from Day One that a key Cortese maxim was "If you want success you'll have to pay for it", and I've always felt that, sooner or later, some loyal fans would not be willing or able to do that.

A chairman's success is managed on his position in the League - Lowe continually saw us fall over his time - through 3 leagues. Cortese has won us a cup and promotion and set us up for success. We have a media that respects him and certainly has stopped slagging him and the club off.

Best of all though he has ambition and passion. He gets my vote.

Is it me, but didn't NC provide those resources in the first place? We lost out on winning the league by 3 points and what would have happened if we had won the league?....yes that's correct we would have been promoted. So the difference between being 1st and 2nd is?

Prefer not to abusive but I concur with most on here about the OP being a somewhat attention seeking 'individual'

I agree that some people do seem to have hidden agendas, Roger's opening post is a bit strongly worded so would suggest this.

But many people have made reasonable criticisms and they are immediately jumped on which is unfair. There is some bizarre "thou shall not question the leader" thing going on.

It reminds me of when a few people dared to question Hero-of-the-day Michael Wilde's credentials, they were branded traitors by the same T-shirt wearing mongs - look how that turned out.
