SimonRichards Posted 14 August, 2011 Posted 14 August, 2011 According to fourth_official, Newcastle are also interested in in Jay Rod.

MOSaint Posted 14 August, 2011 Posted 14 August, 2011 According to fourth_official, Newcastle are also interested in in Jay Rod. i think that was someone falsely attributing stuff to him. he Retweeted a message saying It would appear that @Fourth_Official did not tweet the rumour of £7.5m bids for Jay. Some #twitterclarets playing games? the rumour that was being credited to him was Saints, Newcastle and Ipswich all preparing 7.5m bids for rodriguez

markr27 Posted 14 August, 2011 Posted 14 August, 2011 Rumours are that Saints will/has offer(ed) cash plus Forte for JR... IMO, Joseph Mills would make this more plausible?
beatlesaint Posted 14 August, 2011 Posted 14 August, 2011 I cannot believe NC would bid 7.5 million for a Championship striker. We may go to £5 million but I cant see us bidding beyond that in this transfer window.
Matthew Le God Posted 14 August, 2011 Posted 14 August, 2011 Rumours are that Saints will/has offer(ed) cash plus Forte for JR... IMO, Joseph Mills would make this more plausible? Rumours from where? You are being far too vague.
markr27 Posted 14 August, 2011 Posted 14 August, 2011 Sorry, on the Burnley forum - Clarets Mad. Post 58. http://boards.footymad.net/forum.php?tno=104&fid=297&sty=2&act=1&mid=2116629474
The Cat Posted 14 August, 2011 Posted 14 August, 2011 Rumours from where? You are being far too vague. That really made me laugh. I'd imagine vagueness really frustrates you.
Tokyo-Saint Posted 14 August, 2011 Posted 14 August, 2011 I heard a strong rumour that we will definitely maybe sign somebody, at some point in time in the future. However, there is a chance we will sell someone at some point and maybe even release a player as well. MLG can you verify this and let us know what their football manager CA and PA will be?
SuperSAINT Posted 14 August, 2011 Posted 14 August, 2011 I don't know enough about Jay Rod, but 7.5M is a hell of a lot of money!!
S-Clarke Posted 14 August, 2011 Posted 14 August, 2011 I don't know enough about Jay Rod, but 7.5M is a hell of a lot of money!! I'd imagine alot of the deal is based on add on's. If we get promoted they get so much, if he scores so many goals/makes so many apps/plays an international etc. The up-front fee will end up being alot lower than the 7.5m
hypochondriac Posted 14 August, 2011 Posted 14 August, 2011 Sorry, on the Burnley forum - Clarets Mad. Post 58. http://boards.footymad.net/forum.php?tno=104&fid=297&sty=2&act=1&mid=2116629474 From football-mad which in turn is from football-rumours. So it's b*llocks.
SFCDan Posted 15 August, 2011 Posted 15 August, 2011 People please, the £7.5m was a joke from the Burnley fans.
SaintRobbie Posted 15 August, 2011 Posted 15 August, 2011 £7.5m? Seriously? -------> :-/ I agree - he's not worth £7m. £2-3m maximum.
EastleighSoulBoy Posted 15 August, 2011 Posted 15 August, 2011 Rumours from where? You are being far too vague. That really made me laugh. I'd imagine vagueness really frustrates you. Imprecision frustrates him even more!
Tokyo-Saint Posted 15 August, 2011 Posted 15 August, 2011 Imprecision frustrates him even more! And missing jeopardy!
wild-saint Posted 15 August, 2011 Posted 15 August, 2011 why dont we put together an Arsene Weger type deal, mabe something like this (cortese take note) - - £1million up front - £1million after 798 games - £1million after 298 goals - £1.5 million after 99 games for england -£0,75p if we get promotion - £3million if he gets a BJ from the queen Thats a 7,500,000.75 deal in arsenals books a bargain
Amazingstoke Saint Posted 15 August, 2011 Posted 15 August, 2011 BBC stating that Burnley are in for Danny Ings from the Cherries. This could be a case of getting a replacement in before letting Jay Rod go? http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/b/burnley/9564859.stm
Saint Garrett Posted 15 August, 2011 Posted 15 August, 2011 Yer, heard about £1m.....thats a lot of money for someone like Ings.
georgeweahscousin Posted 15 August, 2011 Posted 15 August, 2011 Apparently there is financial problems at Burnley, and their remit is to bring in cheaper replacements for players they can move on for good money. Hence Fox, and now seemingly Rodriguez is off...
kelkel31 Posted 15 August, 2011 Posted 15 August, 2011 all these amount being thrown around for a two players that are little known and totally unproven at the top levels and then this deal is done today http://www.skysports.com/story/0,,11727_7102700,00.html anyone else think we have missed a trick big time?

Whats better? unproven in the prem, or proven not good enough for the prem?
RobM Posted 15 August, 2011 Posted 15 August, 2011 Whats better? unproven in the prem, or proven not good enough for the prem? Depends on age and previous coaching, surely? Proven not good enough could in fact be proven not yet good enough. But any experience is good experience in this case, which will help development. 24 is no baby, but far from the finished product too.
beavis17 Posted 15 August, 2011 Posted 15 August, 2011 Burnley must be laughing all the way to the bank Will they still be laughing when they spend most of the season in and around the bottom 8 or so teams?
Appy Posted 15 August, 2011 Posted 15 August, 2011 Not when they Austin ready to step in I'd rather an England Under 21 international thanks. Austin is unproven.
Matthew Le God Posted 15 August, 2011 Posted 15 August, 2011 Burnley must be laughing all the way to the bank A Lithuanian "bank"? Oh wait, that is just Pompey. (I use the word bank in its loosest terms)
