Dig Dig Posted 7 August, 2011 Posted 7 August, 2011 What's more important... That we have just been promoted and won our first game playing some slick and exciting football or that the chairman is on the front cover of the program? Does it really matter at all? Whether it be lowe, cortese or whoever else, it's just one edition of a match day program FFS
LGTL Posted 7 August, 2011 Posted 7 August, 2011 The fan on the board type love to have something to moan about. When they can't moan about anything on the pitch, they take to moaning about a program. Think yourselves lucky you big bed wetters, we could have Bates in charge.
St_Tel49 Posted 7 August, 2011 Posted 7 August, 2011 I could have predicted the responses of about six posters on this thread. Always the same ones. Pots and kettles spring to mind
Johnny Shearer Posted 7 August, 2011 Posted 7 August, 2011 bought the programme. Probably better quality than I have seen for some years. Anything of note in it then?

It's pretty sad.
hypochondriac Posted 7 August, 2011 Posted 7 August, 2011 Pots and kettles spring to mind Already addressed that point. Read the thread.
Mowgli Posted 7 August, 2011 Posted 7 August, 2011 Anything of note in it then? Good read on Harding and some good words from Kelv.. Funniest was guide to barnsley next week - Pubs: "drinknig in the town centre is not recommended.." lol.
cryoman1965 Posted 8 August, 2011 Posted 8 August, 2011 Very apt picture. Deal with me and I play hard ball. AOC deal if correct, £12m + £3m add ons is fantastic. We are not here to be pushed around by anyone. Great chairman
hypochondriac Posted 8 August, 2011 Posted 8 August, 2011 The picture is still stupid. Subsequent events do not lessen the stupidity.
cryoman1965 Posted 8 August, 2011 Posted 8 August, 2011 The picture is still stupid. Subsequent events do not lessen the stupidity. He is a valuable part of the football club and so there is no reason why not. Some people don't appreciate some things that are positive about there club. Just because the picture is of the man at the healm. He is good for the club and doing a good job. Too many people want to bash and moan about anything he does. He may leave one day and we will end up with another twot like Lowe. May be he is your type of chairman.
hypochondriac Posted 8 August, 2011 Posted 8 August, 2011 Appreciate the many positives but also recognize the negatives is the best way to be. Thinking cortese looks stupid in this photo does not mean someone would prefer another chairman, simply that he looks silly an one would hope that he has a little more self awareness in future (even some of those who don't mind the photo thinks he looks a bit silly.)
benjii Posted 8 August, 2011 Posted 8 August, 2011 The picture is still stupid. Subsequent events do not lessen the stupidity. It's a nice picture.
Dig Dig Posted 8 August, 2011 Posted 8 August, 2011 I think hypo is a bit jealous as I doubt he photographs very well
hypochondriac Posted 8 August, 2011 Posted 8 August, 2011 It's a nice picture. A nice picture utilised in a stupid way.
hypochondriac Posted 8 August, 2011 Posted 8 August, 2011 I think hypo is a bit jealous as I doubt he photographs very well The camera loves me thanks. No blemishes or spots on MY face
Brussels Saint Posted 9 August, 2011 Posted 9 August, 2011 Appreciate the many positives but also recognize the negatives is the best way to be. Thinking cortese looks stupid in this photo does not mean someone would prefer another chairman, simply that he looks silly an one would hope that he has a little more self awareness in future (even some of those who don't mind the photo thinks he looks a bit silly.) See Hypo, if you posted more sensible stuff like this, you would avoid the abuse you get. Good post. Personally I quite like the comedy element of the photo and its clearly "tongue in cheek", although perhaps when it was decided to put this photo up, it was known how much he had negotiated for AOC. I'm guessing the fans this type of thing most winds up, are the more traditional, not easily impressed, fan on the board types. Cortese is now developing a bit of a cult following and many will love this because it builds upon that. The rest of us just had a bit of a laugh at it. No big issue.
david in sweden Posted 9 August, 2011 Posted 9 August, 2011 wonder who choose that TOUGH GUY ?... He'll make you an offer you can't refuse..ask Arsene Wenger.
SFKA South Woodford Posted 9 August, 2011 Posted 9 August, 2011 bought the programme. Probably better quality than I have seen for some years. Are you serious?, I bought one as well, only to find that half of the pages hadn't been cut apart, so I had to prize them apart trying not to rip them. Add to that at least five mistakes, including listing the Ipswich game next week as being at St Marys and one of the Youth Team player profiles listing a winger as a goalkeeper. It's either very shoody proof reading or the skate printers having a laugh. If I was Cortese, I would have been on the phone threatening to cancel the contract if they make so many mistakes again.
dronskisaint Posted 9 August, 2011 Posted 9 August, 2011 The picture is still stupid. Subsequent events do not lessen the stupidity. Letting it become an issue is stupid...
CWD Posted 9 August, 2011 Posted 9 August, 2011 NC has turned us into one of the most exciting teams in the country, delivered a first day of the season win for the first time since dinosaurs walked the Earth, is telling the likes of Wenger and Dalgish to go f**k themselves over their bullying transfer behaviour, and is rapidly breaking down the negative walls around the hearts of even diehards like me. He can moon or swing his schlong around on the front cover as far as I am concerned. Spot on!

Very shoody proof reading lol.... ....if that's the worst we have to moan about its gonna be a great season (rolly eyed thingy)
itchen_dan Posted 9 August, 2011 Posted 9 August, 2011 Theres a couple of spelling mistakes and errors in tonights programme. 1 in first paragraph of Adkins' interview talking about a "fell-good factor" and an error in last paragraph of Kelvin's interview where an "is" has been added for no reason. Shoddy from Saints!
once_bitterne Posted 9 August, 2011 Posted 9 August, 2011 wonder who choose that Is that Quick Forte on today's cover?
