Cortese Rocks - FACT

Do not mess with Don Cortese - beware young AOC

Can't believe how many people don't appreciate a good Chairman when they see one ...perhaps they'd prefer us to go back to that toss**er Lowe and head directly for League 2

Again you only see what you want to see and choose to totally ignore comments such as the one I made on the jack cork thread praising sfc and cortese because it suits your argument.

It's a common theme on here and you even chose to ignore the post on this very thread which I highlighted the relevant points where I described some of what cortese has done as 'brilliant'. Sad.

How patronising lol. What a small minded cock you are!

I don't understand how people can be comparing Cortese to Lowe? NC has turned the club round, upgraded the facilities, sanctioned the signings of quality players like Lambert, Fonte and Cork, has kept the club's business private to ensure we do things the right way, and most importantly he talked a very kind billionaire into saving our club.

Lowe signed Darren Kenton.

Being on the front cover of the programme is a bit much, but tbh Cortese has earned the chance to blow his own trumpet a bit!

Again with the insults. I don't feel the need to insult you just because I disagree with you, so why do you do it? It's not patronising at all. I quite explicitly said that Cortese has done some brilliant things. At times when Cortese has done something I deem worthy of praise then I say so. I praised him when we won promotion and also when we signed Cork (you can go back and check if you can be bothered.) Yet somehow because it suits your argument, suddenly I only highlight the negative things and I am desperate for NC to fail. It's quite sad how much you have ignored in order to form your incorrect (and abusive) opinion.

Because Dr Who called me a c*ck and patronising when my reply was nothing of the sort, he was just incorrect in his views. He clearly didn't understand that the first time (or deliberately chose not to) and so I thought I would try and make it clearer in the vain hope that he may understand. I accept that it is unlikely that he will realise or accept the truth but it's worth a shot!

Why is it that you think that? Because it differs with your own? It speaks volumes that rather than try and counter the points I made (particularly post 219) you would prefer to call me a t w a t. It's likely that I disagree with some of your views. Established posters like Old Nick and Crab Lungs also disagree with me frequently, but unlike you they reply to my posts in a civil manner and often we find some common ground as they try to see both sides of an argument without resorting to abuse.

It's easier to call me a troll, a t w a t egocentric etc etc rather than debating the points themselves. Rather sums up certain posters on this forum.

There used to be a rule on here 'play the ball not the man.' The forum would be a much better place if people followed this even a little bit.

Fabulous response and nice to see the points are being debated in a proper manner. A truly great response well done.

I have made my point on the actual issues. I don't feel the need to repeat it again and again, or pick holes in other peoples views. People either like the cover, do not or are indifferent. The issue doesnt warrant 30 ish posts from one person, and a response to every single dissenting view.

Just accept, please, that people do not have to agree with you and that you do not have to keep ramming your tedious opinion down peoples throats.

By all means respond, and given that you plainly like the limelight, you can have the last word.

So I'm allowed to say I think he looks like a bit of an idiot and that the arrogant attitude that the club (and Cortese ) have displayed over some issues which have reflected negatively on them is typified by Cortese putting himself on the cover without being called a tw*t a c*ck or a bedwetter. At least someone recognises that I am allowed an opinion as you are of course entitled to yours.

6 bloody pages over a photo! I wouldnt give a ****e if the damn cleaning lady was on the front. He is the Chairman, and to date he has done a pretty good job, and as none of you know whats inside the programme then you can't even comment on the relevence. I really don't get this site sometimes, the pettiness and pedanticness are absolutley unbearable at times. FFS get a bloody life!

I think it's a fair comparison. Lowe had years here and signed some pretty good players in his time and developed one of the country's best academy's. Yes he signed some dross too and had his fair share of managers and of course he couldn't attract a billionaire if he grew some double F boobs and had the suction power of a dyson.

Cortese in his short time here brought with him the billionaire without growing boobs or an extraordinary power of lungs, he has signed some good players and has plenty of time to sign some dross, he also wants a top class academy so there are similarities.

I have more faith in Cortese though and with the financial backing I think we will achieve all that lowe wanted and a hell of allot more.

It's fair to point out we've always had a good youth set up,Lowe liked to take credit for it but it was here long before him,as for Cortese i'm a big fan and he's just trying to up the bar with the academy and most importantly hold onto the product we produce.

Stick him on the front cover every game, seems to work for us. He was looking rather ****ed off though during the 2nd half. Can only think it was the incessant singing about the "dirty Skate bastards". Who ****ing cares about the Skates, we're not coming for them, we should have better ambitions than coming to get second-rate teams. Why do we have to sing about them all fecking game?

That was irritating. I counted the "fathers gun" song four times in the first 12 minutes!

However, I definitely think it was appropriate to be sung towards the end of the game, if only to serve as a reminder.

To be honest I think there might be a sense of humour shown in that photo. If it was Lowe he'd probably be shown heading in a goal at Old Trafford or directing play from the touchline in a tracksuit. But if we were in a **** state I doubt that image would have been on the cover - probably a shot of the crowd for the first game of the season I'll guess.

What's done is done and opinion ain't gonna change it now.

Yarp. That's my original point a few pages back. He's not doing it as a serious gesture; he's showing that he has a sense of humour. But that won't stop the knickers-in-a-twist brigade and their sensitive egos.

@hypo....I don't think the problem is whether you're wrong or not (I think you've over-reacted, but aren't a million miles off the mark FWIW)

I think the problem/issue is the level of salience you're attaching to this issue.

If you have posted 25 times about a programme cover, this is a bit obsessive TBH.

So where was the massive Cortese article? Nowhere. The bloke is a ****.

The same cock who has carefully got us back up to the Champ and refuses to over spend on players when negotiating with their agents... rolly eye thing!

NC has turned us into one of the most exciting teams in the country, delivered a first day of the season win for the first time since dinosaurs walked the Earth, is telling the likes of Wenger and Dalgish to go f**k themselves over their bullying transfer behaviour, and is rapidly breaking down the negative walls around the hearts of even diehards like me.

He can moon or swing his schlong around on the front cover as far as I am concerned.

True, we have always been a club that made the most out of the youth. But the similarities are there all the same.

Doesn't make the 2 men the same or even thought about in the same way. I do wonder what lowe would of done had he been in complete control (no board of directors voting or other shareholders wanting power) and with the funds behind us so he didn't have to sell.

But more than happy that we will never know. ;)
