Victor Posted 5 August, 2011 Posted 5 August, 2011 Don't worry, once he notices they haven't photoshopped out the spot on his upper lip he'll be withdrawng it and running round the ground snatching programmes from anyone who's overcome their nausea and actually purchased a copy.
WealdSaint Posted 5 August, 2011 Posted 5 August, 2011 If we stuff Leed tommorrow.....I won't really care about the programme.
Dr Who? Posted 5 August, 2011 Posted 5 August, 2011 Agreed. You can just imagine his grovelly personal dresser mincing in and out of shot tweeking his collar and adjusting the creases in his suit and pulling his sleeve back to reveal his expensive watch. He's a classic example of a little Napoleon type squirt. Yes the one that Marcus bought him!!
saint lard Posted 5 August, 2011 Posted 5 August, 2011 I think it is great. Mr Cortese has done brilliantly since his arrival.
trousers Posted 5 August, 2011 Posted 5 August, 2011 Just my opinion, but I prefer my chairmen behind the scenes doing what they are paid to do, not on the front cover of the programme. Cortese agrees with you. Which is why I believe this is him having a bit of a larf...
hypochondriac Posted 5 August, 2011 Posted 5 August, 2011 Cortese agrees with you. Which is why I believe this is him having a bit of a larf... Not particularly professional then is it if that is his mindset (which I doubt.)
The9 Posted 5 August, 2011 Posted 5 August, 2011 Speaking of breakdowns ( ), has anyone actually got a break down of what his statement says ?
JustMike Posted 5 August, 2011 Posted 5 August, 2011 has anyone actually read anything from inside the program? Maybe the reason for NC on the front is inside?
S-Clarke Posted 5 August, 2011 Posted 5 August, 2011 has anyone actually read anything from inside the program? Maybe the reason for NC on the front is inside? Yes, there's a chairmans notes feature over a couple of pages.
hypochondriac Posted 5 August, 2011 Posted 5 August, 2011 Speaking of breakdowns ( ), has anyone actually got a break down of what his statement says ? I am cortesius don of dons. Look on my works ye mighty and despair.
sandwichsaint Posted 5 August, 2011 Posted 5 August, 2011 Mess with my boys and you mess with me. I hope Ken Bates checks his hotel room tonight; we wouldn't want the old 'horse's head on the bed' gag would we?
egg Posted 5 August, 2011 Posted 5 August, 2011 That is brilliant. I for one love it that we have a chairman with a lot of front. Only downside is that he is s bit too svelte to carry off the hardman look. Bulk up or ship out I say.
Redondo Saint Posted 5 August, 2011 Posted 5 August, 2011 (edited) Please tell me there is not a photo of him in a tracksuit with NC printed on it......................... Provided there isn't I don't give a toss! Edited 5 August, 2011 by Redondo Saint
trousers Posted 5 August, 2011 Posted 5 August, 2011 Maybe Markus and Nicola had a little tongue-in-cheek bet: ML: "if you get us promoted next season I'll buy you a watch, but the forfeit is you have to go on the front of the first championship programme!" NC: "oh, go on then you crafty old devil. You've got a deal"
trousers Posted 5 August, 2011 Posted 5 August, 2011 has anyone actually read anything from inside the program? Maybe the reason for NC on the front is inside? Yes, I've read it. Nothing in there that we didn't already know. A pretty routine chairman's beginning of season message TBH
Jonnyboy Posted 5 August, 2011 Posted 5 August, 2011 I have been a bit ****ed of by his dictatorial style but tbf he looks pretty damn cool there! (10x more than Lowe would as well)
Jonnyboy Posted 5 August, 2011 Posted 5 August, 2011 I am here: http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=51.294779,-0.741890 I know where you live.
Joesaint Posted 5 August, 2011 Posted 5 August, 2011 Don NC: Just when I thought I was out... they pull me back in!!!!!!!!! COYS
This Charming Man Posted 5 August, 2011 Posted 5 August, 2011 What a hero. I'd rather we scrapped the traditional match programme this season and went with a 23 part story of Cortese' life so far.
CHAPEL END CHARLIE Posted 5 August, 2011 Posted 5 August, 2011 I have obtained a sneak preview of the next programme cover - two mystery new non-executives set to join the Don in the boardroom I understand.
Northant Saint Posted 5 August, 2011 Posted 5 August, 2011 Oh yeah, because it's perfectly reasonable for the owner of a club to put himself on the cover, as opposed to, you know, any of the players, especially the new signings. And it's not at ALL hypocritical to play this down when a certain previous Chairman got no end of stick just for having a training kit with his initials on it. This is seeing the line, knowing there's a line, and saying "you know what, f\/ck the line". At the point when we achieve something other than being in a League below the one I'm used to Saints being in, then, and ONLY then might someone be able to do this without getting a shedload of flak for it. Until then, it's just dickish self-promotion, self-congratulation, and all-round undeserved back-slapping. Yes, he saved the club. And now look what it's turning into. In my opinion he deserves to be on the front cover- he has turned this club around and people love him for it. This kind of self promotion is part of his confident, successful no nonense image. Lighten up. He comes from Italy, he f*cking hates Pompey...
scotty Posted 5 August, 2011 Posted 5 August, 2011 I'm going to print that off and frame it. He's well fit You are insatiable.
aintforever Posted 5 August, 2011 Posted 5 August, 2011 bet you would have been all gooey eyed if it was markus on there (if still alive)....he is the next best thing how is he a cock.....how..? so what, dont buy the programme... dont go to the game...support spurs..? The only time Marcus was on the programme cover was the one after his death. That says it all really. Why on earth would I not go to the game because of what's on the programme cover? you really are a drama queen. I just said he looks like a c*ck. people go to football to watch the players, no one gives a monkeys who the chief exec is.
trousers Posted 5 August, 2011 Posted 5 August, 2011 I know where you live. That's Deppo's house. We're lathered up as I speak
Mowgli Posted 5 August, 2011 Posted 5 August, 2011 has anyone actually read anything from inside the program? Maybe the reason for NC on the front is inside? I rarely buy a matchday programme but after reading this thread I will do tomorrow just to see what he says. This is a big season for us. We need to show a united.... .....oops, too late.
DG Posted 5 August, 2011 Posted 5 August, 2011 Put it up in the dressing room as a motivator - fail and you answer to the Don.
s0108787 Posted 5 August, 2011 Posted 5 August, 2011 What a f*cking egotistical tosser. In his head he is the star player, bet he has been sat with the programme editor designing that all day. well he does run the ****ing show! I think it's brilliant, let's be fair - if he wasn't italian it wouldn't work nearly so well. Fair play to him i say!
Ivan Katalinic's 'tache Posted 5 August, 2011 Posted 5 August, 2011 I'm hoping he's done it for a laugh, biting his thumb at those who feel that's the very way he is...
s0108787 Posted 5 August, 2011 Posted 5 August, 2011 you also gotta love the style. you can't beat a quality italian suit!
Jonnyboy Posted 5 August, 2011 Posted 5 August, 2011 That's Deppo's house. We're lathered up as I speak Right. I'll be there in 20 mins. Wait for me!
andymcrowe Posted 5 August, 2011 Posted 5 August, 2011 All those who criticised the cover can expect a horse's head in the bed on Sunday morning
Stud mark of doom Posted 5 August, 2011 Posted 5 August, 2011 And the rest. I think I'm going to get 10,000 "I ****ing love Cortese me" t-shirts printed up and sell them for £30 each outside the ground. Or something. I am getting some "Let's go Cort-azy" ones done
Block 5 Posted 5 August, 2011 Posted 5 August, 2011 This forum has become plagued with reactionary bed wetters; most of whom are probably twenty-somethings who still live at home with Mummy and Daddy. I cannot believe that people are calling NC egotistical. It simply beggars belief. He has given only a handful of interviews in his tenure, and has pretty much kept in the background since coming to Saints. He has behaved with a level of professionalism and dignity that we have not seen at our club for many years. Our transfers and financial dealings happen behind closed doors and very little information leaks out. We have a smart, no-nonsense chairman who has proven financial acumen as well as a first class business brain. He has made an incredibly successful career for himself. Maybe some of you have forgotten about his background? So here's the Wiki summary. He was involved for ten years in sports business practice as head of the sports and entertainment desk at various Swiss banks, providing global services to sports and entertainment professionals. His most recent position was as an executive at Banque Heritage in Geneva where he managed the finances of billionaires. He had previously run the sports business desk for Credit Suisse It's a new season and another new chapter at Saints and I don't know about you lot, but I would certainly appreciate some communication from the Chairman as to the club's ambitions both in the short and long term. So the chairman has his photo on the cover of the program. That seems like a pretty obvious thing to do if he has written something inside it for the first time. I rarely buy a program but I will probably buy this as I'm interested in what NC has to say. I wouldn't have known to buy it if he wasn't on the cover. He looks smart, serious and ruthless. Think of some of the utter tools running other football clubs and some of the things they say and do.......
Turkish Posted 5 August, 2011 Posted 5 August, 2011 What a hero. I'd rather we scrapped the traditional match programme this season and went with a 23 part story of Cortese' life so far. Dont bank on that not being the case. I for one am buying my first programme in abou 20 years in the hope that it is that. It's going to go alongside my "Saints go Wilde" tshirt and RL embossed SFC tracksuit top in my legendary chairman memorabilia.
latter day saint Posted 5 August, 2011 Posted 5 August, 2011 I am getting some "Let's go Cort-azy" ones done Quality! put me down for 1 in a large, ta mush
tedmaul Posted 5 August, 2011 Posted 5 August, 2011 He doesn't even bother with a tie ... Unlike Rupert. Who knew how to dress. Eton tie, camel coat and ruddy cheeks (a sure sign of a landowner and gentrified farmer). Who is this Italian upstart?
docker-p Posted 5 August, 2011 Posted 5 August, 2011 LMAO. This makes the 'Lets go Wilde', T'shirt, and old Ruperts RL track look positively modest. What a lemon.

Chorlton Posted 5 August, 2011 Posted 5 August, 2011 Me thinks he likes the attention abit to much. He saved the club??? mmm Markus's money not his money but hey he gets a great salary though. He is just an employee. I love what we have achieved but ffs I thought he liked to keep things quiet and get on with his stuff.
S-Clarke Posted 5 August, 2011 Posted 5 August, 2011 Me thinks he likes the attention abit to much. He saved the club??? mmm Markus's money not his money but hey he gets a great salary though. He is just an employee. I love what we have achieved but ffs I thought he liked to keep things quiet and get on with his stuff. How can you say that? You never hear from him usually, a statement or a paragraph in the programme is very very rare. He never speaks, he's in the background 90% of the time. Let's hang him for having his picture on the programme.
Block 5 Posted 5 August, 2011 Posted 5 August, 2011 Me thinks he likes the attention abit to much. He saved the club??? mmm Markus's money not his money but hey he gets a great salary though. He is just an employee. I love what we have achieved but ffs I thought he liked to keep things quiet and get on with his stuff. The following quote is from Markus Liebherr. I suggest you read it. Then hopefully you won't be such a tool. Nicola has been pivotal in conceiving the purchase of the Club and making it happen. I am now delighted to entrust him with overseeing the Club's progress, development and achievement of success over the long term. Nicola and I have enjoyed a long business relationship and it was Nicola who convinced me about buying the Club. He then conducted what proved to be a very difficult process very expertly and professionally. Ultimately, it happened because Nicola was at all times focused on strong business and ethical principles. Since our early conversations about the deal I made it clear that I would only buy the Club if he remained involved following the purchase.
St. Neil Posted 5 August, 2011 Posted 5 August, 2011 Does he have a photoshopped finger? Or really long hands you can see the bottom of his right hand and then a finger poking out under his left arm looks freaky.
Crab Lungs Posted 5 August, 2011 Posted 5 August, 2011 LMFAO, that's brilliant. So many people taking this seriously... fan-on-the-board, I-could-do-better, let's-protest-at-about-a-£1.20-car-park-charge, yucky-the-beer-is-watery types...

What a great idea, this club will never amount to anything until Perry Mcmillan or Richard Chorley represent us.

Chorlton Posted 5 August, 2011 Posted 5 August, 2011 A tool for maybe having a differant opinion as you why thank you. Can you put a link to that quote? So what did you think when Rupert was swanning around in his RL kit a disgrace probably. But its ok we cant question things because at the moment we have done well. I cant wait to see your opinions when we go through a bad patch.
