Not that I care really but that looks ridiculous. Imagine what people would be saying that was Lowe.

Beat you to it by about 30 seconds on the "Lowe v Cortese clothing" thread.

Shades of saints go Wilde there I think.

And the rest.

I think I'm going to get 10,000 "I ****ing love Cortese me" t-shirts printed up and sell them for £30 each outside the ground.

Or something.

It really is a bit much!!!! And yes, I personally would be livid if it was Lowe.... but for the time being I'll put this in the ridiculous column.

I really hope this is true, absolutely brilliant.

It's only considered "brilliant" and welcome when we are doing well, but becomes quite a stick to beat him with when they are not.

I wonder what we would say if the match were at Elland Rd and the programme had a picture of Ken Bates on the front.Yes, NC has done, and is doing,a sound job but I'd rather he took a less prominent role at the moment,

Inclined to agree with:

I'm just starting to kick off about it... I'm absolutely stunned at the man's ego, to be honest.

It does indeed draw unfavourable comparisons.

Well funny. Some of you people really need to get a life. There is a probably a large article/interview in there with Cortese about the coming season and his plans etc. Do some of you saddos really need to start crying at everything Cortese does?

Personally I think it's funny. Not really comparable to Lowe as Cortese is actually good at his job and is sending us in the right direction, however much it irks some of the geeks on here.

Chirst good job I don't have to share a trench with any of you lot, you f*cking throw a hissy fit about the cover of a program.

Oh yeah, because it's perfectly reasonable for the owner of a club to put himself on the cover, as opposed to, you know, any of the players, especially the new signings. And it's not at ALL hypocritical to play this down when a certain previous Chairman got no end of stick just for having a training kit with his initials on it.

This is seeing the line, knowing there's a line, and saying "you know what, f\/ck the line". At the point when we achieve something other than being in a League below the one I'm used to Saints being in, then, and ONLY then might someone be able to do this without getting a shedload of flak for it. Until then, it's just dickish self-promotion, self-congratulation, and all-round undeserved back-slapping.

Yes, he saved the club. And now look what it's turning into.

I think the reason he's on there is because for the first time since the new ownership, we have a ''Chairman's notes'' feature for a couple of pages.

TBH I think it's quite funny, wouldn't be as bearable if we were struggling (rubs it in a bit) but it's pretty harmless, if a little egotistical.

What a f*cking egotistical tosser. In his head he is the star player, bet he has been sat with the programme editor designing that all day.

What is it turning into The9? I've criticised NC for various things in the past and I judge him on individual actions. But this is a non-starter. It simply does not matter.

Jesus christ, calm down. Is it really that boring today that we all go slightly OTT about a single match-day programme front cover?!?!?!?!

It's funny, just look at it that way. I couldn't really give a ****.

Just a thought people but as the program contains a Cortese interview I really don't see the problem of having him on the cover. If he's posing for the rest of the season then yes there are issues.

I see you didn't take the time to comprehend what anyone said then.

Yes, exactly! There's a main chairmans message/notes feature, that's why he's there.

Am I missing something, I had assumed it was a photoshopped attempt at humour

A little insight into his thinking maybe?

The arms folded in a threatening look... "YOU DARE CROSS ME"

Good, that's why we still have Chambo. We don't get messed around now, and I'm pretty chuffed with that if I'm honest.

Sometimes he may rub people up the wrong way, but I honestly believe he's learnt massively from his mistakes in his first season (everyone makes mistakes in their first job tbf)

He's achieving exactly what he's set out to do. There are plenty of chairman that are all talk but not alot else, just be thankful that we have someone to backup the talk with real substance and finance.

Ahhhhh ha ha. Ha ha. Chortle, arf etc.

At least we're being efficient. Cortese managing to look ridiculous and provide ammo to fans elsewhere.

You've got to admit it, it is f*cking hilarious.

Fristly, it's a statement of arrogance way beyond anything Lowe ever did. As I said, self-promotion - a combination of "who's in charge of the success you want?" and "look at memememememememe" !

I can see that some want to lie down and just let Cortese get his way over everything, and I can understand that if Saints end up in the Champions League winning everything in sight it'll be a difficult argument against it, but he has done little of that so far and implemented a number of policies which suggest things are only going to get worse for fans who want to see that come to fruition. I just find it unfathomable that anyone thinks he deserves a pose on the front of the programme for it - it's exactly the sort of thing a satirist would do to mock the man, but there it is, in glorious technicolor - the Chairman, brooding, on the cover of the programme.

You want to celebrate our ON-FIELD success to this point ? Have the shot of the team, the manager and the Chairman together from the end of last season. You want to promote the Chairman's Notes ? Run a splash in the corner of the front page. Just stick to putting the players (as the manager was on the last one of last season, I think) on the cover, because they're the ones that make me go to matches, and they're what I want to see.

If we run out of front page stars because we've only signed two newcomers, go through them all again - I'm sure Bart's been on a few already without any complaints.

It's just... Cortesemania, and God forbid anyone who wants to point out there's a better way.

He can have a massive ego, and toss himself off as much as he likes, as far as I'm concerned. As long as he delivers what he says he'll deliver.
