S-Clarke Posted 5 August, 2011 Posted 5 August, 2011 Apparentley we've expressed an interest in signing him... A host of Championship clubs have joined the race to sign Julio Arca, skysports.com understands. Middlesbrough had tried to persuade Arca to extend his five-year stay on Teesside but they failed to come to agreement. Now Arca is a free agent and is considering his options, and a number of clubs have entered the frame to sign him. Premier League side Wigan, and Argentine giants Boca Juniors have both shown an eagerness to sign Arca. But skysports.com understands that Leeds, Birmingham, Southampton and West Ham have all expressed an interest in the 30-year-old. http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,12876_7083029,00.html
Saint Garrett Posted 5 August, 2011 Posted 5 August, 2011 From a friend who is a keen boro fan - he's past it.
stevegrant Posted 5 August, 2011 Posted 5 August, 2011 Just what we need, another left-back/midfielder
S-Clarke Posted 5 August, 2011 Author Posted 5 August, 2011 Just what we need, another left-back/midfielder Yep, does seem a bit random. Doubt anything will come from it though.
Dellman Posted 5 August, 2011 Posted 5 August, 2011 Not what we're looking for, in fact we're not looking for much and the Janusry sales will be the time to tidy a few things up if necessary
The9 Posted 5 August, 2011 Posted 5 August, 2011 I have never meet a Boro fan I have one for a boss in Winchester, weirdly. Can't see any reason at all why we'd want to sign Arca.
Saint Garrett Posted 5 August, 2011 Posted 5 August, 2011 Think we've jsut been linked with him becuase we have money.
beavis17 Posted 5 August, 2011 Posted 5 August, 2011 FWIW I actually think Arca is a decent player but as you say not what we need at this moment in the time.
Saint Garrett Posted 5 August, 2011 Posted 5 August, 2011 He is ok, but old and didnt he have a serious injury and never really recovered? Think he'd be on big wages in positions we are covered. no thanks.
Colinjb Posted 5 August, 2011 Posted 5 August, 2011 A player I wanted us to sign about seven years ago. But now? Nah.
skintsaint Posted 5 August, 2011 Posted 5 August, 2011 I have never meet a Boro fan One of my best mates is a Boro fan. Don't know why being born and bred in Kent.
The9 Posted 5 August, 2011 Posted 5 August, 2011 A player I wanted us to sign about seven years ago. But now? Nah. Quite. I'd have probably even gone along with the idea between 2006-2010... but not now, no.
SaintNeil90 Posted 5 August, 2011 Posted 5 August, 2011 Agent talk no doubt seeing as we only need a cb and striker.
Jimmy Gabriel's Halo Posted 5 August, 2011 Posted 5 August, 2011 I have never meet a Boro fan I have, he lives 2 doors away from me and I've just spoken to him about our game on 29th Oct. Spooky or what....
