miserableoldgit Posted 5 August, 2011 Share Posted 5 August, 2011 http://www.skysports.com/opinion/story/0,,15231_7079850,00.html SOUTHAMPTON Southampton have plenty of players who are pleasing on the eye and their midfield looks full of talent. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Adam Lallana are two of the best young English players around; the former is extremely dynamic and can play in a variety of positions, while the latter is a master creator. They also have two more orchestrators in Morgan Schneiderlin and Guly Do Prado and despite some people's reservations, I think Rickie Lambert can get goals at this level. Add in the experience of Kelvin Davis and Danny Butterfield and if they can defend well enough, they have a real chance.

doddisalegend Posted 5 August, 2011 Share Posted 5 August, 2011 I think the sky expert has given at least half the championship a shot at promotion. It really is going to be a tough league this year..... I'm really looking forward to it.

miserableoldgit Posted 5 August, 2011 Author Share Posted 5 August, 2011 Once you get past Chilworth roundabout, you enter that strange land known as "The North". I chuckled when the Plymouth Fans were chanting "You Dirty Northern Bastards" to us at SMS 2 or 3 seasons ago.
jjsaint Posted 5 August, 2011 Share Posted 5 August, 2011 I think the 'real chance' refers to us staying up, not promotion. Newly promoted teams will always be thought to be relegation cannon-fodder by sports writers who do far too little research, especially in the Football League. Dig Dig Posted 5 August, 2011 Share Posted 5 August, 2011 Having read about 4-5 of these season preview type of things, i've come to the conclusion that most are as ill informed as most of the stuff posted on here. It's like reading a season preview by NickG one minute and then one by Saint Lard straight after. Means a big load of **** all at the end of the day!
