SO5 4BW Posted 5 August, 2011 Share Posted 5 August, 2011 I'm out with a group of friends in Eastleigh tomorrow evening. Owing to the change of time from 3pm to 5.30 I can't make the game - anybody know a pub that will have it on Sky?

The9 Posted 5 August, 2011 Share Posted 5 August, 2011 I watched numerous World Cup matches in the bowling alley's bar on the big screen - whether you'd want to be in there on a Friday evening I don't know.
SO5 4BW Posted 5 August, 2011 Author Share Posted 5 August, 2011 Thanks for all replies - looks like Litten or bowling alley then. Neither of those around when I was a lad in Eastleigh! convince your friends to go to SMS and then go out - If only - some are not interested in football (!) - and of the ones that are... Don't tell lies. I know full well that you haven't got any friends. - I won't be seeing you there tomorrow then. Was going to buy you a pint too

Fowllyd Posted 5 August, 2011 Share Posted 5 August, 2011 Eastliegh Christ, I grew up in Bishy, and Beastliegh has never improved. I'd go for anywhere you can tool up TBH I too grew up in Bishopstoke, though probably a few years before you - my parents live there to this day. In fairness to Eastleigh, there are some good places to eat there these days (Guzel, La Fenice to name two), which is more than could be said when I were a lad. Not sure about any of the pubs though, as I've only been in the Wagon Works in recent years. I guess we might try the Litten Tree, as it's more likely to serve proper beer than the bowling alley place. What about the Chamberlayne or the Grantham? The former was always a crap pub, the latter used to serve us in spite of our school uniform back in the 70s - so we quite liked it back then! I've no idea what either of them is like now though.
