Hate to say anything good about the Daily Wail but this analysis seems quite good, well balanced and unsensational. One may take issue with the view of Brighton, they have the new arena to show off in and one should not underestimate that motivation. They have not suddenly become a bad team and with the Posh lad up-front don't rule them out of a top six finish. Saints are a bit over-rated in my opinion and will more likely be in the mid-table group. Whatever happens early on Cortese must not get the jitters and blame Adkins if we are not pace setters. We comfortably beat Ipswich last season - OK, with Keane - so who knows?

Don`t forget to take the whole "new stadium" syndrome into account though!

Love these responses. We are over rates but don't under estimate Brighton... Who finished a whole 3 points or so ahead of us. Who we took 4 points from etc etc

People are only really backing brighton because they spent lots of money on ''saught after'' Craig Mackail-Smith, if they had signed someone like Sam Bladock they'd be nowhere near as rated IMO.

He under estimates Middlesbrough, who will be contenders this season.

Will they? They have run out of parachute money this season, selling off high earners and relying on the kids to plug gaps.

A bit like Saints in 2007/8 and 2008/09 and we all know what happened then...

I agree with that. Boro are in really dodgy waters at the moment, could fall down to L1 in the next few years if they can't find investment.
