Formula 1. Has anyone been..?

Recommended Posts

I am looking to go to Monza whilst I am in Italy, and the tickets I am looking at are for General Admission. I was wondering if anyone knows what this gives you access to, and if it easy to watch the race? These are £77 each. To get into the stands would be at least £100 more.

Opinions? Also, where is the cheapest place to get tickets?

A sport best watched on TV FFS.

Why pay so much just to see Lewis Hamilton or Jensen Button for about 3 seconds every 2 minutes or whatever hurtle past you when you can be up to date with commentary, info and action replays from every angle imaginable from the comfort of your lounge or in a pub supping beer.

Agree with EoA. I went to the 1st Bahrain GP - general admission - Start/Finish Line Grandstand. Without a radio commentary you have absolutely no idea what is going on, you cannot hear any track announcements & so are reliant on watching a big screen to see what is happening. You also get to see about 12 seconds of action.

Went to Practice at the first Abu Dhabi GP and there were stalls renting out out "ruggedised" portable 12 inch TV's - I mean what IS the point FFS?

Now going to a GP for the craic, then that would be different you go with a bunch of mates you take in all the surrounding stuff going on and spend a bit of time in the stands but don't care what is going on so much. Did that for Le Mans about 20 years ago - that was fun & would do it again (but take earplugs) but the two GP's - nope ain't ever going again unless it is Corporate in a Box with a telly

Went to the Montreal one twice. First one gen admission, managed to get a decent view underneath a stand. Second time got a seat and it was 100x better, watched the support races and qualifying etc, got some awesome pictures. You can easily keep up with what is going on if you are paying attention, you notice a driver is missing and then check the big screens and they usually show a replay of what happened elsewhere on the course. Hope you have a great time.
