tony13579 Posted 3 August, 2011 Author Share Posted 3 August, 2011 No the fiesta don't win because the ones registered in 2000 was 33.9%. If you are looking for an 11 year old car then a yaris would look like a better bet than a fiesta
Johnny Bognor Posted 3 August, 2011 Share Posted 3 August, 2011 MOT failure rates have more to do with the owners, rather than the manufacturer. I looked at the BMW 530 which has a failure rate of27%. However, over three quarters of the reasons for failure relate to brakes and tyres. As these are the most common reasons for failure, which have little to do with the manufacturer, then the figures are fairly meaningless. Is a failure due to a chip on the windscreen really down to the manufacturers? If they removed wearable items from the results and just considered the component parts made by the manufacturers, it would give a more realistic view. Dimond Geezer Posted 3 August, 2011 Share Posted 3 August, 2011 All I know is that my 'Y' plate fiesta failed on Monday costing me £250. To compound the joy, the sump is leaking, that will cost another £250, but as it doesn't form part of the MoT, it can continue leaking on the road & in my parking space at work, until I can sell one of the kids into slavery. Guest Dark Sotonic Mills Posted 3 August, 2011 Share Posted 3 August, 2011 My Saab 9-5 failed this morning because the indicator bulbs were the wrong colour! Apparently the orange tinting has faded. Off to ConBay and £8.50 later I have 10 new bulbs. Should last a while. Advisory on the anti roll linkage on the front as well so that's two new ones at £4.99 each and Robert is your mother's brother.
