yes we sit well amongst that lot, but do they include booking fees etc?

They don't on our prices.

The £23 is adult advanced purchase in Family stand.

The £30 is adult advanced purchase in Centre Itchen/Kingsland.

And if you adjust it for the cost of living being higher in London and the South then the picture would change again and make us look comparative "value" compared to say Leicester/Forest. Not sure we would be quite at the level below that. But....if you want to buy good players, they have to be paid for.

Yeah it's f*cking expensive living in the south and most of us aren't the London-based high earners that artificially inflate the 'affluence' of people in the south. When oop north many things are far cheaper and your 'average Joe' gets far more "value" for his money. Whatever way you look at it, it's expensive.

for me, the key indicator is not how much the most expensive seats are, but how what is the cheapest possible price for an adult to do the game, and how much they charge away fans, if clubs want to charge a premium for the best seats in the house then fair enough, but they should keep one end "affordable" for those who have followed the club over the years and can no longer go, like in Germany where the standing tickets normally cost €11 - €15 euros, our cheapest of £23 not too bad. in theory the chapel should be quite full for most games this year due to the financial incentive to sit there, it does mean that families might find themselves sitting next to groups of lads who buy seats in that section due to price though.

One very important thing is missing from this survey, Value for Money. It's alright saying that one club is a cheap day, but is it a good day?

If I was a neutral would I rather go an watch League One Rochdale for example lose more than they win in a smaller stadium with less people or if I wanted some entertainment would I shell out a little bit more to visit a bigger ground with more fans for a more high-profile game ?

Those figures are slightly flawed, given that the majority of match-going people don't buy a programme, don't buy a cup of tea and probably don't buy a pie.

And a lot have a season ticket, meaning you get a discounted price.

My match-day spend is £22.40 per game with my season ticket, plus £2.50 on a dayrider ticket to get to St Mary's and to the pub.

People don't buy pies??!!

Agree though, it's always been a part of the match day experience to have a Bovril, pie, programme and a beer....if I break the sequence we either draw, lose or win!

People that eat before and/or after going out to the football. Pointless queuing for a pie or a drink when you have paid to watch football. May as well give Greggs £30 to stand in their queue in the city centre whilst the game is going on.

The problem with the comparison is how many variables there are. It's not even any good looking at how cheap the cheapest tickets are, as there might be only 500 tickets at that price each game which are sold out long ago - the official stats will show it's really cheap, but in practice, for a lot of fans the cost will be much higher.

So you steal pints in the pub

You can see by the cost of pies they get cheaper the further north you go, why in such a small country is there such a difference in prices.

They forggot to apply the ticket tax or the stadium tax or the parking tax. These are real factors that impact on the cost of supporting Cloteses Ryanair eneterprise.

Do you take a thermos and sandwiches, or is the real cost slightly higher?

For me it's usually a £100 day out with all the extras.

Must get through a lot of pies and tea then.

Go and support a team that doesn't "tax"

of the 7 most expensive for tickets 4 are from the South and 2 are more expensive then us. When you look at it like that makes me feel slightly better about my ticket cost!

Jesus! Looking at the prem prices, I'm not exactly looking forward to promotion.

On my wages getting promoted would save me a fortune as I'd hardly be able to attend at all. But look on the bright side, SFC's loss would be Dave Merrington's gain.

In the meantime I'll just have to hope the team don't let be down and do something silly like getting themselves promoted.
