Still don't get why people do it. You'll find better odds online and don't have to queue up to make a bet or collect winnings. Do people just like queuing?

I do all mine online. But after a few beers, a tenner on 5-0, Jaidi 1st scorer is just too hard to turn down.

Yes. It's a great British tradition, don't you know :p

Hopefully better odds, but the queues when Lambert scores first are going to be horrendous given that you won't be able to collect your winnings anywhere else.

You can collect your winnings by post, next game etc

It's part of the 'matchday experience' TM.

Seriously though, I enjoy getting to the ground and having a look through the odds with my mates, arguing over what we should collectively bet on and then the collective joy/misery when we win/lose. It's not really about the money for me it's just a good laugh. It wouldn't be the same if we just all did it online seperately on Saturday morning.

The main difference with going to 'The Betting Room' instead of Ladbrokes will be that they only have 2 high street shops - both in P*mouth. If the booth is closed/out of cash at the end of the game it makes it a lot harder to pick up any winning bet later on in the week.

says you can pick up your winnings at the next home game or mail in your slip recorded delivery. Guess it's the mail-in option for away fans then. Wonder if they get their postage cost refunded?

Anyway - good luck to everyone betting in the ground this season. Clean 'em out!

Important point particularily for Saints fans from further afield than Hampshire. I quite like a flutter before the game as it gives it something extra to play for but can't say I'd be massively impressed to have to wait a week or two between home games to collect your winnings. Bad choice of bookies at SMS if true.

Are we seriously going from a reputable and well known bookmaker in Ladbrokes to some little skate owned bookies from Pompey?

It's all part of the big plan. Solent FC is back on the adgenda.

This. They look like a shoddy, 2nd rate, skate firm - can't see them getting a penny of my money.

The Northam concourse might smell a bit better then if that smelly Ladbrokes fella has disappeared. Christ he reeked.

Was he the fat man?

Had a tenner on Lambert today with ladbrokes at 10/1 them cowboys The betting rooms (stadium bookmakers)were giving a mean 7-1. When l got time will email BBC RIP off Britain. I will never use this firm again. Its hard enough to get a winner let alone them crooks skining you on the price. I expect Lambert was popular bet at St Marys today.Rant over COYR
