2011/12 Season End Predictions

A 3.5 for me.

I'd say 10th-14th.

The "independent" surveys I've seen have us to finish 10th (FourFourTwo magazine) and 16th (The Times).

Despite the perceived wisdom that this forum is full of pessimists, I still think polls/surveys of fans tend to overstate Saints.

If fans are saying we will finish nth, i reckon we'll finish (n+6)th.

The bookmakers, however, do have us in the top 6-8 teams...and that's where the money is.

If memory serves me correctly the poll back in January had most votes for us finishing 2nd.

According to your formula we should therefore have finished 8th.

Where did we finish again?

Which reminds me....... if there are any Mods around today (didn't notice any yesterday) can you make this a poll and a sticky please?

Well only a few optimistic people like myself felt we could make the play offs and most thought mid table at best. There will be alot of tough games this season ahead and i know it's very early days but Saints should not fear anyone and like i said at the time there is alot of poor sides in the championship . Exciting times ahead.

Just found this from the Championship Promotion season. Oh ye of little faith. Including me... Hooiveld turned out to be that "other" signing and interesting to see Jemal's name there.

Totally forgot that Jemal even existed although at the time remember being vaguely disappointed. Nice to see Dalek was as positive as ever...and wrong as always.

Instead of signing for us, Young Boys sent him on loan to Koln/Cologne in the 1.Bundesliga, then he was sold to Ajaccio in France's Ligue 1 last summer, and only played 6 games last season, and now he's joined Club Africain in Tunisia, who (it seems from Wiki) are one of the top 4 or 5 clubs in Tunisia.

And all because his agent got greedy (from memory?) - bit of a comedown.

Mmm, I seem to recall a quote relaying that he said "it's finished" on the way to the airport, not sure why that was though.

This is top quality dragging up the past work - well done. It is funny and exciting looking back at how far we have come. Wonder what this seasons prediction thread will look like in 2 years?

What bugs me is how difficult these things are to track down. I only found this one because I accidentally clicked on something colinjb posted, ended up on his blog and it appeared in the feed on the right of the screen.
