I post a thread in the lounge, which is supposed to be for sensible discussion, and within a handful of posts it has descended into petty insults and bickering by the same usual bunch of d1ckheads who haven't got anything sensible to contribute so they resort to personal abuse instead.

 

And Turkish, do you not see the irony of the fact that you posted that long rant on the 'why this place is dying thread' recently yet it is mostly because of pathetic f**king morons like you, who can't seem to make a single sensible post without being abusive towards other posters, that this place is dying?

Admittedly these things are measured in tiny increments, but you seem a tad more compos mentis than the other two. If that's true, I'd suggest you paddle slowly away from the advocate of violent racism (with his reproduction of the criminal-led EDL's manifesto) and the advocate of violent sexism (with his plea for help in planning the assault and criminal damage to property of a woman). Do you really need to be so closely identified with either?

 

And perhaps the mods and admin might like to reflect on the way their site continues to be used for such plainly illegal purposes.

There really is nothing that a mac can do and a PC can't. PC's are available in a huge range of budget options and people often don't get the right kit for what they need. Mac's don't have as many options and come pre-made to do specific tasks. If you bought the correct PC to do a job that a specific mac would do, the prices wouldn't be too different.

 

Marketing guy at work complains that his £400 dell optiplex at his desk doesn't do the same job as his £1500 mac at home. No sh*t Sherlock!

 

If you want budget then a PC is the way to go but understand the limitations. If you want specific then go for a mac as finding a tech that can build the perfect PC to suit can be harder than walking into an apple store and buying a mac.

 

Apple have got so rich through clever marketing making everyone think Mac's can do jobs that PC's can't. Along side the PC Market being flooded with under qualified tech's giving the wrong advice on what hardware is needed.

 

Apple are miles ahead in the handheld tech though, iphone's, iPods, ipads's and so on are far better than the competition.

Yep, I am quite aware that Foxconn makes components for other manufacturers. I, erm, read the article I posted.

The link with Apple has been pretty well established by several media outlets, all of which have referred to Foxconn as an iPad maker. Apple can presumably pick and choose their suppliers, so I'd say that the link is a bit more than tenuous.

 

Still, what do I know? I've just done a bit of research and applied some common sense.

I'm currently using a tidy little Windows 7 laptop at work, but have swapped it for a Macbook Air 13" which arrives in a couple of weeks - can't wait. Win 7 is very good, but the Air is MUCH lighter, nicer screen, faster and does all that my Win 7 laptop does.

Saying that, I do prefer Android phones - can't put my finger on why really, think it's just a UI thing!?
