Apologies if this is being discussed elsewhere (though I can't see another thread where this is the case) and notwithstanding the club's policy on keeping injury news hush-hush, but have we heard anything about Alex's injury from Wednesday night? The last snippet I saw, from somebody on this board, wad that he left the ground on crutches, but i have not seen anything further.

He's listed in the squad on the OS to play at Yeovil tomorrow, so I assume he's recovered enough to play some part.

Not sure I'd pay any attention to that, it's got 28 players listed and seems to just be a listing of the entire senior squad (plus Ben Reeves and Harlee Dean). I'd expect the game to be similar to the WBA game with 3 or 4 players getting the full 90 minutes and most of the others seeing at least 60 minutes of playing time.

His dad's not happy I hear. Didn't want him aging A-side risking injury for some reason.

F*ck his dad. AOC is an employee of Southampton Football Club and his Dad rightly has no say in that.

Yay..I get to play my MLG card!

Here goes....

You are technically incorrect. Until Alex is 18 (on 15th August) his parent(s) still have 'parental responsibility' for him. As such, they have as much say in his welfare as he himself does.

"What does it mean to have parental responsibility?

When a decision has to be taken about a child, all those with parental responsibility

for the child are allowed to have a say in that decision."

"Parental responsibility ends when a young person reaches adulthood, at the age of 18"

You da man Trousers.

(of course, the rules are different in Portsmouth where parental responsibility ends at the point of conception...)

So we need to plan the kidnapping of Mark Chamberlain for a fortnight. You get the net, I'll get the roofies.

We need Oxo out until the 1st September, but I still get the feeling he'll see at least half a season more with us. The January window will be interesting though. If we're pushing for promotion at that stage, maybe we can get him to stay, and tie him up with a fat new 5 year contract....

You worry too much Phil (winky thingy)

It is standard practice to isolate the problem with a protective cast for 48 hours. They would not even have assessed the injury before Friday (having satisfied themselves it was not a break or tear)

Fair enough, we place Mark Chamberlain in a 'protective' full body cast for a month....

Curiosity rather than worry, Peter ;-)

Bigger and more important things to worry about at home! Hope you're well.
