Police helicopter, plane and gunshots

Does anyone have a clue what might be going down? Police copter been hovering for yonks now and I swear I just heard gunshots too. Sounds like it's coming from over Lordswood way??

Apparently started flying low in Totton area and worked its way towards Lordswood/Lordshill where it appeared to be looking for something.According to my daughter it was a major topic on Facebook but no-one appears to know what it was doing.

Dont worry when The Echo journos get to work and start browsing Facebook etc we might get some news.

Dont know if true or not but it was suggested to me it was helicopters using infra-red heat seeking cameras to look for houses cultivating cannabis crops.

Well, as long as the police are spending their time and resources on useful pursuits I'm happy. Far better that than bothering with burglars or, God forbid, policing the streets.
