How many people have moved ST seats this season?

As the title says. How many ST holders have decided to move seats when re-newing this season becuase of the new pricing structure?

I've got a feeling that the nippers and I will be sharing the chapel with a lot more saints fans this season than we did last season. So I'm doing a totally unscientific survey to see if we can expect alot more company on opening day.

Although well p1ssed off at having to pay a whopping 72% increase I have stayed where I am (Kingsland centre) because I am happy and comfortable with the view and the people around me !

Basically it's not so much the money as the principle (sneakily concealed in the small print as it was!) but I have no intention of cutting my nose off to spite my face !!

Hope I get my money's worth !!!!

As it happens I do find £16 a match expensive for second-rate football.

There are loads of people on here saying you must pay more for Championship football - and the same people saying they only go to watch Saints.

As Saints are basically the same team as last season - you're apparently paying more to watch a better standard of opposition.

So which is it?

You can't have it both ways.

I was contemplating moving, as there was a right irritating old codger behind us last season. I didn't though and I'm now hoping that he's a victim of Cortese's Age Discrimination policy, or he's karked it.

Same with me. Decided against moving but i'm dreading hearing the annoying goon slag Kelvin off within 2 seconds of kick off. i'll prob wish I moved!

Did you seriously expect the prices to stay as low as they were?

Do you think that the standard of football you watched last year will be the same as this?

Were you as entertained by Bas Savage as you will be by players we will be watching this year?

Did you look forward to the game against Brentford as much as you would Leeds or West Ham?

Do you think that those in football refer to The Championship as the most entertaining and competitive division in the world are wrong?

Did you sit in your seat bemused as to why about 28,000 people ran onto the pitch in celebration of our promotion to the Championship?

If so... I can see your point.

Whilst we are on the subject, do they still offer season tickets half way through the season for the remainder?, as I hope to be in a better financial position then but cannot afford it now.

No they won't be doing half season tickets.

In the sixties and seventies it was the Milton for me for the sheer excitement. Later, during the eighties and nineties, it was the Archers and as age catches up with me I am a bit jealous of the Northam lot tbh. But, I wouldn't change my seat, six rows behind the home dugout, for anything in the world now.

To be fair he did provide some pure comedy moments with his completely absurd pronouncements, who can forget, "That Butterfield, good kid, got a great future......"

Guilty as charged yer 'onour. I have moved from Itchen South to Kingsland centre' date=' block 31 simply because it is nearer to the footbridge over the railway line and will be quicker to get to and from. Pricing structure had nothing to do with it as I am considerably richer than yow. :D[/quote']

Still wont stump up a fiver on here though, will you ;)

good point. and, as a rule, £16 is better spent on a concert. A decent number of matches are disappointing or instantly forgettable, most concerts (if you choose carefully) are memorable experiences.

For many people it really is a question of financial priority. even at £16 a game(if you get to every game) that's couple of decent CDs or a reasonable gig...

championship football will be more attractive than L1, but it wasn't attractive enough to entice more than 23500 each match even in a decent playoff season.....

i have also given up my ST, because I feel like I am being taken for granted by the club, and becuase I can live without seeing every moment of every home game, even though I love being there.

I will warn you all now that anyone even thinking of moving to the Chapel in order to save a few quid better behave themselves and not disturb our sleep or upset my thermos flask for that matter. Yobbos, thugs, and Northam Stand refugees are most definitely not welcome.

The Chapel - A local stand for local people.

That is all.

The price is higher this year because last year we were watching third rate football instead of second rate. Most people go to watch Saints playing another team. The other teams are also now second rate instead of third rate. It might have escaped your notice, but there are some new players in the team this coming season. A pity that you won't be seeing De Ridder or Cork and who ever else we sign. Most seem pretty impressed with what they've seen of them so far.

If you'd rather go and see third rate bands playing at the Brook, then that's your prerogative. Each to their own.

My nipper and I have moved to the chapel from itchen block 10.

Money is a reason but he's more aware of what's going on. He tried copying some bloke calling the ref a w*****. As he is 4 I said he called him a banker, my nipper said "no daddy, he said w*****!". :-)

Moving to a family area might lessen his access to that sort of language a bit less. Unlikely but maybe a bit :-)

I can relate my five year old daughter came back from SMS and gave her mum a rousing rendition of "get your fathers gun" her mother didn't see the funny side of it.......

I think the Chapel is better for language issues with regards to kids but you can't escape it totally..... that's just part of football

or you could see some really excellent bands at the brook, for around £15/£20, and see the Saints from time to time, including cork, De ridder etc, and still not spend more than the cost of a ST. Not difficult.

The price is higher this year, and if we get back to the PL the prices will absolutely rocket.

Sadly so. It's the main reason I'm quite happy for saints to spend the next 10 years in the championship by which time at least one of my nippers should have left home and I might be able to afford a PL season ticket.

Corky Morris and I attempt to moderate our language as our kids are with us. Lasts about 30secs.

My nipper knows that what's said and sung at the football, stays at the football.
