The highlights from yesterday are now up and theres a new improved style of editing.

There isnt any commentary and subs and goals show the player concerned.

Its quite well done, although all the Whoooshing and Booming after every highlight/sub could get a tad annoying

On the subject of yesterdays highlights, de ridder looks even better than I remember!! :smug:

not a fan, seems odd without any commentary and that wooshing noise is very annoying!

Its better than having the commentary from that Burk who clearly wasnt even at the game yet piles on the fake enthusiasm

I thought that 12 mins of silent highlights was a bit strange !

Much prefer some sort of commentary, even Dave (we only need a goal to go 1-0 up!) Merrington is better than nothing !!

The video didn't even show the 'wow' moment we talked about last night when he took it round two players and then ran off down the line!

Think his highlights deserve a video of their own :) I'm sure theres plenty to come though..

id rather have that than the eery silence thats on there currently

It's much better with the solent commentary over it. Also, the sound effects are annoying and it's lazily edited. We don't need to see 2 slow motion replays of missed chances..

had to mute it after 2mins that swoosh bloody badge effect is so annoying hope they stop that crap.

totally agree, very annoying. the new features where it shows the goal scorer and the subs are okay, but the swoosh thing is ridiculous.

Slow motion replay after every ****ing "highlight". First season of having saints player. Is this the norm?

They did use slow motion a bit last year too but not as much. I liked the slowmotion for Lallanas corner to see if Connollys shot was over the line (I concluded that it wasnt) and also for some of De Ridders skill.

How many minutes of highlights do they normally show for each game? I might be considering getting this.

For many home games you get the full 90 minutes.

My god that new Saints badge swoosh effect gets tiresome though.

Just so Pat isn't disappointed, it wasn't "many" games last season that you got the 90 minutes, it was about 5/6 games, but pretty much every home game had "extended highlights" of about 20 minutes or so.

The Bournemouth away game had the full 90 minutes also, and a few other away games had extended highlights but from stupid angles with pointless stop start editing and annoying music.

Well worth the money though, it's a good service.

The sounds won't be so bad when there's actually crowd noise and commentary (I presume these will be forthcoming when the season starts and commentary exists), but yes it did start to grate very quickly.

Get rid of the woosh and bang thing please!

Sure it is more noticeable as there is no commentary , levels will all be adjusted when its properly edited for a competitive match I'm sure.

Quite like the look of DeRidder have to say , even 2 can't keep him quiet

I really hope every single missed shot isn't repeated in slow motion a milttion times from different angles like in the Wet Brom friendly highlights.

Thanks. That sounds pretty decent. I think they're doing an offer of £36 for a year, which seems OK.

When do the match highlights first appear on Saints Player? Does it normally take a day or two? If it was the same day, I'd be quite impressed, have to say.

I believe the FL's various rights packages dicatate that online video can only appear on the second day after the game so they tend to turn up on Monday for Saturday games and Thursday for Tuesday games (the same as the BBC site).

Last season (with regards to Saturday games) the first lot of highlights went up on a Sunday evening, but that was only 3/4 minutes or so with the poor commentary from the bloke not at the game, the extended highlights came on Monday or Tuesday.
