There isnt any commentary and subs and goals show the player concerned. Its quite well done, although all the Whoooshing and Booming after every highlight/sub could get a tad annoying On the subject of yesterdays highlights, de ridder looks even better than I remember!!

eurosaint Posted 28 July, 2011 Posted 28 July, 2011 I thought that 12 mins of silent highlights was a bit strange ! Much prefer some sort of commentary, even Dave (we only need a goal to go 1-0 up!) Merrington is better than nothing !!

They did use slow motion a bit last year too but not as much. I liked the slowmotion for Lallanas corner to see if Connollys shot was over the line (I concluded that it wasnt) and also for some of De Ridders skill.

Just so Pat isn't disappointed, it wasn't "many" games last season that you got the 90 minutes, it was about 5/6 games, but pretty much every home game had "extended highlights" of about 20 minutes or so. The Bournemouth away game had the full 90 minutes also, and a few other away games had extended highlights but from stupid angles with pointless stop start editing and annoying music. Well worth the money though, it's a good service.

ant Posted 29 July, 2011 Posted 29 July, 2011 The sounds won't be so bad when there's actually crowd noise and commentary (I presume these will be forthcoming when the season starts and commentary exists), but yes it did start to grate very quickly.

Sure it is more noticeable as there is no commentary , levels will all be adjusted when its properly edited for a competitive match I'm sure. Quite like the look of DeRidder have to say , even 2 can't keep him quiet

When do the match highlights first appear on Saints Player? Does it normally take a day or two? If it was the same day, I'd be quite impressed, have to say.
Mozz Posted 29 July, 2011 Posted 29 July, 2011 I believe the FL's various rights packages dicatate that online video can only appear on the second day after the game so they tend to turn up on Monday for Saturday games and Thursday for Tuesday games (the same as the BBC site).
niceandfriendly Posted 29 July, 2011 Posted 29 July, 2011 Last season (with regards to Saturday games) the first lot of highlights went up on a Sunday evening, but that was only 3/4 minutes or so with the poor commentary from the bloke not at the game, the extended highlights came on Monday or Tuesday.
