Colinjb Posted 28 July, 2011 Share Posted 28 July, 2011 Are you on the club database? The sale of tickets for this game will no doubt be heavily regulated, I would expect them to go on general sale to people on the database, therefore you will have a chance at that point.... if you're quick. If you are not on the database then the question surely will be, how do you get onto it without buying a season ticket?
The Kraken Posted 28 July, 2011 Share Posted 28 July, 2011 So long as you call in as early as you can after tickets are released there really should't be a problem getting tickets. No members' priorities, so they'll go on general sale. The club might tie them in with another game though (so you'd have to buy a ticket for an extra home game as well as the Pompey game). Jack Posted 28 July, 2011 Share Posted 28 July, 2011 Likely to need a ST with a couple of away games bought on that customer no. to guarantee a ticket. Doubt there will be many willing to give up their ticket for this one. I won't be!

saintscottofthenortham Posted 28 July, 2011 Share Posted 28 July, 2011 I'm getting 4 away games in before this one so should be alright for a ticket you think? Think it sold out to members who'd been to a certain amount of away games. What with our improved away support (numbers wise) over the last few years, I fully expect this to sell out to ST holders. Chez Posted 28 July, 2011 Share Posted 28 July, 2011 I thought the first game sold out quite quickly, but after getting rained and hailed on and being held back for an hour because of the riot, the clamour to go back the following season wasn't quite there - which was lucky for those of you that chose not to go. They have a roof now, so we'll be heard, not soaked and hopefully coming away happy this time round. I doubt it will sell out to ST holders though. Far too many old timer ST holder that can't be bothered with hassle you might get at **** park.

I was wondering/trying to work out how many away games would need to have done to get one in the ballot for this. They've managed to split that end before - wont be a problem anyway if the OB perform their usual trick and keep our trains back until they're all inside the ground and then keep us all in for an hour after. Oh, of course, Hampshire Constabulary don't do that anymore as it infringes peoples civil liberties. Let's hope there's no rattley fences down Goldsmith Avenue. LGTL Posted 28 July, 2011 Share Posted 28 July, 2011 People were missing the whole of the 1st half the first time around, and heard many stories of 30+ minutes missed the second time around. You'd hope the OB would have learnt this time around although I doubt it. Allocation will be between 1500-2000 I reckon and will sell out to ST holders IMO. Away fans are on the other side of the Milton End these days meaning away fans coming in from the station would have to pass right by those queuing to get into the other side of the Milton. For that reason they might not split the Milton End, which means 3000 tickets. Leeds had the whole end last season and boy was it noisy.

This season will be my first trip to Fratton park, so what exactly did the police do in the past? How late were people getting the train? It’s happened on the past 2 visits. We got in 25-30mins into the game last time, “broken down trains”, “delays finding replacements”, “bullsh*t, bullsh*t, bullsh*t” and then a slow stop-start march down near-deserted skatey streets . In hindsight if they could have delayed us about another hour-and-half that would have dramatically improved my day. The ‘away’ end was split 50-50ish for those matches. they have to give us 10% unless there are strong safety reasons against doing so. We'd therefore get 2000. Away fans are on the other side of the Milton End these days meaning away fans coming in from the station would have to pass right by those queuing to get into the other side of the Milton. Hope you're right but I can't see them giving us any advantage they don't have to. They will reason that extra segregation is required and take it out of our allocation, they'll have extra netting either side of us. As you say we could make a lot of noise with the entire end. There's plenty of clubs who've had a reduced allocation for security issues in the past.

anothersaintinsouthsea Posted 28 July, 2011 Share Posted 28 July, 2011 Last time we played there I made my own way to the ground and had no problems. If you don't want to wear colours etc then this is an easy way to avoid late trains etc. After the game had to join the group being herded to Fratton station but once there I just got on a train in the oppositee direction to P&Southsea where there were no skates to be seen. Denzil Posted 29 July, 2011 Share Posted 29 July, 2011 We drove down in 2004, first thing we saw when we got to toilet town was some skate pikey (in full replica shirt) trying to nick a Porsche in The Good Companion car park. After the game we got shoved down to Fratton station but we managed not to get put on the train. We then had to walk all the way back down Goldsmith Avenue to enable us to get our car. That was eventful to say the least.
Fan The Flames Posted 30 July, 2011 Share Posted 30 July, 2011 Got the train down from Worthing for the 2004 game and was waiting near the ground for my mates who had the tickets with my jacket buttoned up covering my shirt. I saw my mates behind the police corral and approached them, with that a copper drew his truncheon and shouted 'get back, get back, get back', I pulled up my jacket to reveal my shirt and the 'get back' changed to 'get in, get in, get in'. All a bit dramatic but was all part of the fratton 'match day experience'.
