QPR make Saints an offer for Puncheon (Player Exchange)

Still not convinced on the Gorkss side of the deal, he is a decent player, maybe not quite Premiership standard but for a team like QPR i'd have thought they'd have kept him on the fringes at least. Just seems strange Warnock claiming at the bottom of the London article he'll still need a CB, why get rid of Gorkss in the first place?

Reckon the whole reason we're asking for straight cash rather than cash + player is we believe if he's not good enough for QPR he's not good enough for us

There is an argument that you should get the bulk of your team for the league your in and have half an eye on promotion. I seem to recall there was a player a few years back who would help a team get promoted then get sold to the next team and help them get promoted. He did this two or three times. If Gorkss gets us up I'll be happy. With a year remaining on his contract after that we can sell him.

It would always be better to have the cash and spend it on the player we want but this deal may work out for the best. We get a chance at a player in a position of need without having to compete with other clubs for his signature.

For what it's worth, Gorkss is starting for QPR tonight in a friendly against Crawley.

Hmmm, interesting. What do get if you take the first five letters of QPR's opponents? Crawl. Who said they would "Crawl over broken glass for Southampton"? None other than midfield maestro, ginger wizard and saints legend Alan Ball. What sport plays with a ball and even contains the name in it's title? Football. Who plays football - Southampton, that's who. It's bloody obvious innit? Clearly this is a sign that Gorkss will sign for us - it's a shame QPR feel the need to so blatantly advertise it. I'd rather our business was done quietly and behind the scenes thankyouverymuch Mr Warnock.

Is there some really strong stuff about at the moment?

Not really - I was going for clever comparison between the obscure logic of popular 70s/80s gameshow "3-2-1" and the guessing game we all play on these threads.....it's not as funny if you have to explain it though....

Fair one.

Sorry. I didn't make myself clear in the earlier post. Towards the end of his playing career he played for Crystal Palace and Sheffield Utd teams who got promoted to the PL but didn't figure for them once promoted. I was fully aware of his earlier playing career

This was obvious to me, for one.

I thought QPR were supposed to be the richest club in the world!

Why are they now making bargain basement signings?

Because Tango only cares about making himself more orange and Cash only cares about, well cash.

FWIW it looks like were signing Joe Cole and maybe Hitzelsperger so it really doesnt look like its happening now.

At least weve got the best of the frees and loans if they come off.

Did you used to work on 3-2-1?
